Hello! I've been poking around this site a little bit for the past couple weeks, and I've decided to take the plunge and introduce myself.
You can call me Batrachiarch, or Bat. I'm male, 27, and I live in the Seattle area. Over the past several years I've been exploring my gender with the help of my girlfriend. I've come to believe I might be gender fluid, but I'm still very unsure what that means for me. I can vary wildly from appreciating my masculine body, to wishing desperately that I had a feminine one, and this can happen over the course of a day or a month. I've got a lot of questions, and I don't know what I want let alone how best to achieve it, so I've decided to start treating this like a personal project.
I've set a sort of deadline for myself. I've decided that if I'm going to start HRT, I want to do so before or shortly after I turn 30. I realize that transition can happen at any age, and it's best not to start unless you're absolutely certain and ready for it. However, I deeply regret that I was not able to explore this possibility when I was younger, before passing puberty, and I don't want to let it go any longer.
I'm planning to find a gender therapist to help me work out what shape my gender takes and how I want to express it. In addition, I'd like to use these forums to talk to more people and draw on as much experience as possible. I appreciate whatever help and advice you're willing to lend.
I'm going to start my first forum topic on the Non-Binary Talk board, about how being gender fluid fits into daily life. I hope to see you there!
