It was one of Susan's plea's for help several months back wherein she mentions how the site was running at a deficit and that she needed help that caused me to be come a monthly subscriber.  I can afford a few bucks a month, and I gave what I could (mind you, my monthly budget is in the red).  This resource is THAT important that my credit card bill gets a little bit bigger each month as a result.

Just about every single member here *should* be able to find something to sacrifice, (a cup of starbucks perhaps?) that would allow them to give just a LITTLE bit ($5?) to keep the lights on at Susan's.  For any who truly aren't able (yes, they exist), I am not talking about you...but it just boggles my mind that some people who draw such immense benefit from this resource aren't willing to chip in.  If every active member on the site gave just a few dollars it would be enough.

With not enough monthly donators stepping up, I would like to send out a huge and heartfelt OMG THANK YOU to anyone who has taken up Laurie's challenge (and especially Laurie) and not just given a FEW dollars, but hundreds...HUNDREDS of dollars!  This place is worth it and so much more.  It is the first time that I have seen the monthly donations go into the black.  I would like to implore anyone reading this who does not donate to give something, ANYTHING to try give something back and to let Susan rebuild her reserves so she can ride out the lean months.  It isn't fair to on a monthly basis let the site struggle and to compel others to give WAY MORE than their share.  If you use and benefit from the site, give back to it, period.

         Here's to Susan and Susans,

                                              Julie

My thank you to @JulieAllana for her plea and her financial help for Susan's. She does make a statement that needs a little explaining so I will try. Hopefully someone will correct me if I am incorrect

Julie, like many here, is a subscriber. As such subscriber support is not part of the donations. They are separate and are used as I understand it for other site requirements. Subscriptions also allow Susan to budget those funds for those needs. I have seen something in the past showing what the funds are used for and I do not question that all funds are used to support this site. That is not my point here. I just mean to point out that there are different sources for supporting Susan's Place. Susan has calculated the donations needed to keep things running every month and that is the goal we are talking about here.

With that said, I need to thank 3 others that have made donations since I was last online. All donations are appreciated.

Thank you..

Oh, I didn't actually realize there was a difference between subscriptions and donations.  I assumed it all went to help run the site.  I would be keen to know the difference and if one is preferred over the other.

  @JulieAllana ,

It is my understanding that it all goes towards supporting the site. the difference being Susan is able to actually budget various expenses with the subscriptions because they represent a fairly steady income stream whereas donations do not, As anyone can see by the donations made month to month. Any more detailed information would need to come from Susan herself. Sorry I cannot tell you more.

Well, I was going to restart HRT this week while at home, but since my letter hasn't arrived, and I can't get an appointment at planned parenthood, I guess I have some money that I can't think of how else to spend so... here you go.

If I wasnt saddled with debt from my departed pooch, I'd donate a bit more.  I already have a couple subscriptions.  I fully support Susan's how I can.

you know how far the universe extends outward? i think i go inside just as deep.

10/11/18 - out to the whole world.  100% friends and family support.
11/6/17 - came out to sister, best day of my life
9/5/17 - formal diagnosis and stopping DIY in favor if prescribed HRT
6/18/17 - decided to stop fighting the trans beast, back on DIY.
Too many ups and downs, DIY, purges of self inbetween dates.
Age 10 - suppression and denial began
Age 8 - knew I was different

Hi Sarah, I do understand the disappointment on not being able to restart HRT. That for sure would have been a very worthwhile use for the money you Donated so to you also I say Thank You.

There with the chores done I want to acknowledge that with everyone's help that has donated we have met September's goal and we have erased about 2/3 of the year to date shortfall so far!! THAT IS GREAT! but it also means there is still 1/3 of that $1k shortfall left that will carry over into October's needs.  We need to continue meeting an exceeding our monthly goals from not to the end of the year and beyond.

Thank You Thank You EVERYONE!!

Hi Laurie! I'm glad to be a member of Susan's. I can't quite match your donation but I am proud to donate what I can every month. Sometimes maybe even more but never any less than my last donations.

Thanks for being here!

Donica,

I have tried to be clear in that all donations are appreciated by myself. The size of the donation is not what is important. What is important is that we meet the goal Susan and set. We have done that! We have met and exceeded that goal for this month and exceeded it enough that the short fall YTD has been erased.
I cannot give $150.00 every month. Not even close to it! I could this month so I challenged others to do so. Some could match and even exceed it. Some could not. But every donation helped us achieved  the amount we have. All 98 donations helped us get there.
Again, I thank everyone of you for your donations. You all have made me proud to be a member here. This site is important to us all and needs our active support. Remember that is what we are here for, to support others and to get support ourselves.

Thank you Donica and everyone else.

Hugs,

Let's see if we can keep up the visibility of the monetary needs of the site and try to get more of those smaller donors involved.  If lots of people gave a little, few wouldn't have to give ALOT!  I know that Susan posts a monthly reminder, but I think it is good to have a thread open like we did this month to help raise awareness.

     Peace,
              Julie
