I came out today to my aunt. During my first therapy session earlier this week, my therapist and I agreed that it would be best for me to come out to someone this week. I knew my aunt would be relatively easy because my she is very progressive.
And....it was easy and totally undramatic, just like I thought it would be
. She was very sympathetic with my situation.
So a pretty good week one of transition in the books...first therapy session, first clothes bought, first coming out. Not bad, right?
And I've got the plan for week 2: make appointment for laser and come out to a long-time friend. Off we go!

@sarahc Dear Sara: This is terrific news.... your therapist is right on for encouraging you to come out to someone for your first time.
Kudos to you for being brave and taking this big step....
...it can get easier each time you do it, and as
@Devlyn stated in her comment to you,
"you'll soon find momentum on your side."Each time you successfully come out to someone, it will increase your confidence and self-assurance, that's not to say however that there will be disappointments along the way with those that will not accept you and your transition decision.
Stay the course, stay strong and determined.
I will be eagerly looking for your future progress reports around the forums.
Wishing you well and thanks for sharing this wonderful moment with us.
