Another question to ease some of my thoughts.

My wife is ok with me expressing my femininity and such but I don't want to come out to her just yet on the whole transition part... now for the question: is it possible to trial run with HRT to see if it's something I want to fully pursue before telling her? Tons of questions I know. Thanks for the support everyone!

Well for me, I started growing boobs within a month. Not sure how you could hide that from your wife if for some reason HRT started working as quik on you. Just a thought you might need to consider.

Yes. A month or two should let you know if it's for you or not. That's what I did. I've heard that if you do get any breast growth in that short of period, that if you stop then they will revert. I'm not a doctor however and YMMV!
I'm a gender confused guy who lives an hour north of Seattle.
I believe that I was influenced by DES. I have crossdressed in public a handful of times, see avatar picture (enhanced with FaceApp).
I don't plan on transitioning, no GRS, FFS, nor BA.
I consider myself TransFeminine. But reserve the right to change my mind at any time.  ;D

No more Spiro.

I am guessing that you understand the effects of testosterone suppression and feminizing hormones.: reduced sexual libido,  bodily changes etc. So why are you wanting this? And how would your wife feel about that?

Ok, I live in Washington state and I believe I can just find a good doctor that has experience with trans people. Is it still worth it to see a gender therapist even if I decide to not fully transition?

Yeah its possible, but if you keep going how is she going feel when you tell her you're already on them?

I am aware of that. My libido isn't very high to begin with.

She is pretty understanding so I hope she would see it from my perspective.

Hello again Abby

Yes it is possible to "explore" HRT for up to say 3 months before any significant and irreversible changes are likely to happen. By the that time and probably earlier you should know whether HRT is right or not for you based on both emotional and minor physical changes. Although I was virtually certain HRT was the right course of action for me, I was technically "exploring" for a few weeks; I soon realized I was on "the right fuel".

After a maximum of 3 months, you can either cease or continue and if the latter, you must be committed to HRT and as you say, tell your wife.

I wish you happiness whichever action you choose to take.

Hugs

Based upon my opwn experience and my own story, I would say yes you can, BUT it depends on what you want to get out of it.  Why do you think you are transgender?  Or are you sure you are Transgender?   For me, I wasn't entirely sure, so I needed to take some small measured steps to explore this side of myself.

For me, it wasn't so much about hating my male body, but something deeper, at my core and my emotional center was just off.  So I wanted to see how changing this one small thing made me feel.  So when I started, those questions and doubts went away after a short time on Estrogen, and I could just be.

When I/we started, my doctor told us that I could stop anytime that I wanted (3 month limit kind of number). Once I started there was no turning back and I am not personally aware of anyone that once they started they willingly quit. You may be playing with fire. It would probably be worth while to wait until you and your wife come to a full agreement before you start something that is so (for me) emotionally addictive.

Best of luck in this choice,
Tia Anne

Well you have met one now.  That being said, I'm back on the Train and enjoying it with no plans to get off again.
