I'm beginning to get discouraged by my lack of growth. Two years into HRT and I'm still not quite a B cup. I really wish these doctors would come up with a consensus and figure out what works best. I fear that my approach has left my estrogen too low for too long and I have "missed the boat".

I at the other end of the spectrum.  2 years on HRT and I'm about a AA or A.  Not very big.  My E levels are where they should be and my Dr. just says everyone is different.  I have a lot of sisters and a couple are very flat and a couple have C or higher.  So I'm not sure where I should land.  :(  I'm hoping I'm a late bloomer.

Remember there is a not insignificant number of cis women with smaller breasts.

I am at 2 years and 2 months of HRT.  I finally made it to an A.  I doubt if I'll ever be a B.  My E levels are stable in the normal female range.

It's just a matter of everyone's body responding differently.  We inherit genes from our parents, so looking at the women in both sides of your family will give you an idea of how you will likely respond.  My mother had small breasts.  Recently, I found a photo of my paternal grandmother and she had small breasts.  So my A's are not surprising.

And my cis woman friend N has breasts that are smaller than mine, so I'm not about to complain.

My family are all D cup or more (except for my vegetarian sister). I'm hoping for a full C/small D. That's the primary reason for the orchiectomy I had in January. It will probably be another year and a half before ZDV SRS.

Stacy, what differences have you noticed since the ORCHI? If any....

It may just be my wishful thinking, but my boobs do seem to be getting bigger, but we're talking a 5% increase. It is a week short of two months since my surgery.

The fact that I'm 6'2" and my BMI is around 30 means my boobs are barely noticeable. If I lost 50lbs and didn't lose anything boob-wise (which might be possible as my boobs are nearly all breast tissue and very little fat), they'd be a little more proportional. If I had a 34/36 band size they'd be great.

I've lost a lot of weight over the last year and a half (35kg give or take) and it all left from other places. Got my band size to 38 and other measurements to 45 35 45 so things are a lot more noticeable when you get your bmi down to 26ish. Its been better for more to stay a little 'over' to compensate for my bone structure. Too thin would look... not right.

I am like you, a family of D's are around me.  And I hope for a nice size C.  My breasts decide to be different in size currently, the left side is a pretty good and full B, while the right side is like a grunt and tries very hard to be called a B.

I don't know if the orchi I had 10 days ago will do anything about the girls, but at last I do not have to take spiro anymore, because the two of us did not get along very well!

I still want to loose about 5 to 20 pounds, and hope to reduce my band width and the waist a little.  I am currently at a band width of about 40, and have a bust of 46, waist of 41, and hips of 43.  I hope I will not loose to much of the bust when I loose my planned weight, but hope to be able to get one bandwidth size down, and a little more at the waist

That's me too... I'm a small C at present but my right breast hasn't filled out as nice as the left. Time I guess.

Many cis women report different breast sizes, sometimes an entire cup size different!

All my family are D cup and above, I've been on HRT for 3 years and I'm not even A cup!
My bmi is about 18 I used to be a little heavier and none of the weight goes to my chest, I'm starting to think I just don't store weight there.

Back in November last year I went completely off the anti androgens and a month later I found a strange lump on my right breast so I had to get an ultrasound. The first thing the ultrasound technician said was that I had breasts like a teenager, she said it looked like I was as developed as a 13 year old.. I thought after 3 years of hormones I'd be older than 13 but apparently not  :(  oh the lump was a fibroadenoma which means that I'm still developing.

Then on the 18th January I had an orchiectomy so it isn't quite 2 months ago anyway I have noticed some breasts changes, they have changed shape a little to be more round, I found another smaller lump on the left side which is side that usually lags behind and I think my nipples have enlarged a little maybe. I honestly thought nothing much changed but now I'm wondering if it wasn't just all in my head cause my nipples are standing out more and are sensitive, they nowhere near as painful as they were with the initial growing stage but are definitely more tender than their usual desensitised self.

I'm starting to wonder if lack of breast growth isn't much to do with testosterone but more to do with the anti androgens, when I was on cyproterone my T levels were 0.7 and when I stopped taking them I got more growth.
The other thing I'm puzzling over is if one has more growth hormones when a teenager but starts HRT in their 20s then does the lack of growth hormones means it takes longer than 5 years to fully develop? If my breasts are a 13 year old now then does that mean I have 10 more years of growing? I really wish science could answer these things all I can go off of is the 5-7 years it normally takes a cis-woman.

I'm not sure on that. If anything my experience is that second puberty seems to be faster if anything. I'm currently on zoladex (testosterone production inhibitor) and estradot patches. My e level 230ish and t is low for a cis woman. I noticed that breast growth kicked in a few weeks into hrt and at one year and four months if they stop growing I wouldn't complain. The pain at the beginning was NASTY and lasted a good year! At this point its a little less painful but I can always feel an ache inside.

I've added some progestrone to see if I can get a slightly fuller shape and judging from the increased pain stuff is happening. My girl friend and photos show that a lot has changed in even the last four months. I went from pretty decent c cup to d cup. It took about year to get to c so things seem to be speeding up. I was almost deficient on any hormones at all for the last ten years or so which may have had something to do with it.

Orchie is also scheduled very soon but I doubt it will make much difference breast wise as my medication shut down t production almost completely. I know this... I hope they don't grow for the next 3 years or so cause they would be larger than I prefer! Its odd that we all seem to respond so differently.

I have really no clue what really causes breast growth.  I came into this HRT spiel with almost the same size of breasts I have now.  I know that my intersex condition caused this growth.  I don't know the exact trigger, but I guess that I am in the process of finishing puberty, and because I am biologically mostly female, this happens by growing some boobs for me.
I don't think that estrogen has done anything for me yet.  My breasts are still growing (is it the puberty or estrogen????).  It took 3 to 4 years to get to the size I am at (that would be normal puberty speed), which is a big B on the left side, and a wanna be B on the right side.  If I get to the, desired by me, full C size, it would take about 2 more years at the current speed.  Which means I have to live for a total of 6 years with hurting boobs!
So the normal 5 to 7 years for a cis women will apply to me, too!

My concern is mostly that my E2 levels are too low. I realize that my last test was at the end of the three month cycle I've been on. But at that point, my E2 was something like 78pg/ml. That's well within normal range, but I'm wondering if it needs to be higher in more of a pubertal range, like 150-250pg/ml.

That was why I had my orchiectomy, to stop taking the spironolactone. I've seen here at Susan's as well as elsewhere that it's believed that Spiro may also block estrogen to a lesser extent.

I'm looking to lose weight this year, once the weather gets warmer. Ideally I'd like to lose 50 lbs. I'm hoping that will help proportions. Most of my breast size is breast tissue, very little fat. I think I won't lose to much breast size if I do lose weight.

Its unlikely. If your levels are right fat will deposit in the breasts and butt/hips so weight cycling is quite helpful...

I don't know if spiro messed up with my breast development, but it sure messed my head up.  I felt like a slug, almost like in a deep depression, and had no desire to do anything, even making food seemed to be chore to hard to do!

Now that the stuff is out of my system, I feel free again!  And if the orchi is good for my boobs, I take it as a fringe benefit!

Kathy,

I just a little behind you on taking HRT.  I'm glad I have company with small breast size. :)  I'm going to have my orchidectomy soon just so I can get off spiro but if it helps on breast size, all the better.

I did complain to my Dr. but she just smiled and said everyone is different.  But it did make me feel better to complain.  :P
