The Surgeon I really wanted my BA done with, will not operate on transgender women because he hasn't the experience in the area D:
They will provide me with the number of someone who does apparently.
Seems strange :/
Disappointed is an understatement..

I know somebody on Susans mentioned this the other day about their experience with a trans specialist for BA.

Rachael you have the figure of CIS woman - most of us dont. Getting the aesthetic right with the average transwoman is an art.

I will try and find the post.

What an honest surgeon to suggest they dont have the expertise for trans BA.

I bet your research on this will be huge value to others.

Yours truly, Kirsten

There are anatomical differences between cis and trans women.  The last thing anyone wants is a case of walleye nipples or worse because the surgeon wasn't aware of how to do it correctly on a trans woman.  According to the doc who did mine she said that the placement is a bit different and trans women almost always need wider implants to look good.  If you don't do those right you end up with huge gaps between them, nipples pointed every which way but forward, and boobs that aren't centered behind the nipple.

Surgeons won't recommend other surgeons who are known to do bad work so don't think that he's likely to push you over to some hack.

Better to be disappointed than having a surgeon perform surgery for BA who is not experienced with trans patients.
We may regard ourselves as female, but in reality.. our bodies are still different regardless of corrective surgery.

Hope you find a suitable and experienced surgeon. Good luck. x

I genuinely did not think there was anything fundamentally different between a male chest on hormones to a females.
The thought of having wide or idly shaped breasts is scary and kind of outs me off :/
I don't think I'm to bad in the chest area, but definitely am a pancake.
I just want small breasts. Not big ones.

The pectoral muscle is arranged a bit differently from what I was told and while HRT usually shrinks the size of the muscle, the differences in how it attaches stay the same.

But that said, there are plenty of surgeons who do a fine job putting implants into trans women with great results.  They tend to like showing off their work so ask to see photos of past patients.

Hi,

I was pretty flat and I have a 40 tight 42 a bit loose inch chest under breasts. Dr. McGinn did my BA. She explained that I did not have a pocket for the implant and there is a risk of the implant sliding down my chest. She wanted to place the implant as far under the muscle as possible. I had 555 cc implants. She was able to put the implants partially under the muscle.

On a post op visit the doctor said my implants were the larget she could have fit. She had trouble getting the one implant under the muscle. Both were difficult.

Now I have a pocket and if I wanted to increase my size I could. The issue now is the size gain worth the pain and tops may not fit right. There are more things to breasts than size. They have to fit your body and life style. I am thin and very active. I did spinning and hiking today. My breasts look very proportionate to my body size and percent of fat.

I will be aiming for pretty small breasts.
I do not want huge things either.
I am tall 5'11" but not wide thank god. I just want a small B.
If they would have just grown abit more I would have accepted them :/

Been rejected again by the next crowd that I was recommended to try.
This was in response to my email I sent to them ...

Thank you for your recent email enquiry.

Unfortunately, our consultants recommend follow up surgery should be provided by the clinic of initial treatment.

I'm sorry we can't be of help.

I'm sick of it to be honest.
I have no surgeon or psychiatrist to help.
I have never needed to talk about this stuff.
Now I need authorisation from someone other than myself :/

Hello Rachel (love that name :) ),

I do not know where you are from; however, Dr. McGinn will do a BA. There are several in the Philadelphia area that will do a BA on a trans person. I can give you a bunch of names if you like.

Haha we are just lucky we got to choose our names.
I'm based in Ireland. But have connections with Switzerland. Best I could realistically do Is Europe.
I have a French trans friend. I might ask her.

Thanks for the help mind :')

Hello again Rachel

I have only been on HRT 14 months and therefore will wait another 10 months before deciding if BA necessary for me. I suspect that it may be necessary for me.

There are several places where this can be done in UK (privately outside the NHS); I assume you have considered or are considering UK aswell as Ireland, France and Switzerland.

I truly hope you are able to find a place that meets with your requirements and if you decide to proceed, that provides you with an excellent result.

Hugs

Pamela

Thank you Pamela!
So far the BA places I have contacted have been in Northern Ireland (UK)
So they have been so far fruitless. I have talked to my GP yesterday in attempt to get back up or find out more on what they require.
Over here when I joined the clinic in my area they referred me to the Brackenburn clinic who deals with the trans issue in Belfast. I had called to see where I was on the list last year and then again a week or two ago. No change, still apparently number 330 on the list.
I don't get this slow procedure. There are people out there literally loosing all their hair as they wait for this slow system.
Tis a joke really.
I'm just lucky I don't need it really. I'm happy, out working away, no psychiatrist or nothing. Just thought it would be faster, cause I'm curious now really lol

I have gotten on to my GP about the rejections I have received. She is going to speak with my Endocrinologist to see about what they can do.
I will leave it another week and then I shall return to see if she has any update for me!

I'm so tiered of the pancake life you wouldn't believe!

Update, letter came in the post today X3 I have a first consultation with the place I had checked last with Dr Khan.
My GP must have did some serious work.
It's hardly been a week.

Such a turn of events.

Thank you mm! I hope so. It's only a preliminary check. We will see how it goes!

Hi guys!! Had my consultation yesterday for BA.
It went very well.
I like the 280cc look on me. When you put them into the sports bra and bounce a little, the movement looks so natural.
I'm getting excited now.
But at the same time have my worries

I will just keep moving ahead for now

  •

pamelatransuk

Delighted everything went well yesterday, Rachel.

I hope you do not have to wait too long for the actual BA.

I appreciate that you must be very excited but have some worries also.

Wishing you happiness and success.

Hugs
