Still not recovered from the hols, neck still sore and right knee hurting. Also have a thick head (oi no comments from the back) but that is self inflicted as had a small beer last night and stayed up late to watch a film. Rang mum and she has a cold/sniffle ,that comes from mixing with lots of folks.
 Had some yogurt to use up and mixed some cinnamon and ginger in but it tasted gross to me so made it into yogurt bread. Now that works okay.

Stripped the chicken of meat, have enough for 3 good meals and now making a pie from the scraps. Miked some beans and broccoli in as well as frozen peas, nowt gets wasted in my place.

Mums birthday today, she is 89. Calling in as never made it out yesterday. She did out me to a couple on holiday who did not know and were surprised, I think its because she is proud of what I have done. 2 ladies we talked to mum told them but they said they had worked it out or suspected, no problem they were lovely and on my FB list now. Turns out a relation lived in the house that mum and her family lived in for a year back in the late 40s! Lady I was sat next to over the aisle in the coach had no idea and we talked a fair bit.

Now I am blushing! Called in on mum ,she was okay cooking up a stew for lunch. Cleaned up the workshop bench and tools that were covered in grease from building up the shafts as well as making templates in paper for window glass. Popped in to see Debs on the way home, she was getting down a bottle of wine. Told me she was drinking one a day so I gave her a rollicking but might as well talked to the dog.

Went to Nicks and we removed the engine and box from the Hot Rod T, bit of faffing to get it ready but it came out easy and everything tided away. Then we went to see if I could get a new immobilizer chip for the Austin at the Vauxhall agents ,not good as no longer available and no code for one either. Now I am stuck so a bit peed off.

I had a 1994 Chevy Silverado truck that the transmission went out. The mechanic rebuilt it but told me the problem was that the ECM (Electronic Control Module) was sending the shift signal at the wrong time. It was only off by a fraction of a second, but it was enough for rough shifting. Apparently the previous owner took it to a dealership who installed a new ECM and programmed the chip.

My mechanic said he checked everywhere, including junkyards, and could not find the correct ECM.

I found the correct ECM (1994 model) on eBay and the correct program chip on Amazon. For less than $100 including shipping, I had my truck running in top condition... not counting the $1,800 for the transmission rebuild. 

I assume you know the specs that you need. Maybe some online shopping will turn up exactly the correct part you need.

Got a call from Brian, help I am drag racing at the weekend and my new gear box that my son fitted has the shifter set wrong. Not only that but he had messed with the starter inhibit switch that took me ages to set up last time, guess what yup took me ages this time---------

Over slept but needed it as was feeling a bit off since the hols, up and at them now catching up on house work and stuff. Had an upset tum in middle of the night, put that down to the red pepper not cooked enough in the chicken dish I made yesterday. Think I will put it back in the pan and cook till they are soft.
 Bought a leg of lamb so while I am at home today I will make a curry or do I make a lamb raan ? thats a roast covered in spices.

Just seen Musk has upgraded security on his trucks, playing loud music will stop that NOT! Its a good job as he is South African that they havent fitted flame throwers as they do to deter car jackers.

No one should bother his customers or his vehicles or dealerships or him or his family.  That can be a level of violence that transcends and goes beyond protesting.

I'm sure that we all disagree with the following sentiments, except in the case of a certain SouthAfriCanadiAmerican (with a backup plan to become Chinese) but I couldn't resist posting it before the moderators possibly delete it.

Many times I have considered installing zombie spikes on my Jeep. But that wouldn't be very ladylike.

I've always thought that Josh Rogan would be great name for an action movie hero.  Chuck Norris in the title role?
