While we should always try to think 'positively', that needs to be tempered with reality. If you're planning to relocate or do some travelling, please try to research the states involved. Here is a link to the latest 'Anti-Trans National Risk Assessment Map: March Edition'.

Well it could be worse.  Some countries make life much worse for transgender and gay people.

There are online articles that explain how much worse it can be.

With that said, it is better to be in a more accepting environment / state, for sure.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

This is very helpful. I have been in Virginia for 37 years now. Now that I have finally 🙌 decided to,  after a long time of suppressing who I was all my life, I am on a new journey.  This is taking me on many paths. One is relocating. I am leaning on a move to Colorado.  So I am pleased to see this post. 😃
Always  look forward, there's no ⏳ to look  🔙. You are the person you were always meant to be.

I have a lot of family in northern Colorado where I went to high school and that area is Trump Land. Also the Western Slope. Grand Junction is nicknamed "Trump Valley" because of all the Trump signs everywhere.

The Denver area and south along the I-25 corridor is a strong Democrat area. Since that is where the highest population areas are, Colorado's politics lean left. Of course, the higher population areas come with big city crime, homelessness, and other issues. I am looking at the Pueblo area as the cost of living is cheaper and Canon City to the west has the most mild weather. It is desert area, but close to the mountains and I love both.

That sounds what I am looking for, not looking for city life. I like the quiet life, drive my 4x4 Jeep and enjoy the outdoors. I will look into that area. Thank you.

I lived on the north side of Colorado Springs for over a decade. Snow is pretty, but not when you have to drive in it or clear it from your driveway. It also gets quite cold, at least for someone who prefers temperatures in 80's and 90's. We moved to central Arkansas a few years ago to help my dad. He passed away in December. We are now planning to return to Colorado. Canon City is preferable, they have some of the mildest weather in the state, but Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and West Pueblo are also in the running. Many of my best friends live in that area, along with those who supported me during transition. If you're a veteran, Colorado Springs has the Air Force Academy, Fort Carson, Cheyenne Mountain, and Peterson Space Force Base.

Thank you Jessica-Rose, I'm definitely not a fan of the cold but I am originally from the Northeast and do remember shoveling alot of snow. I just would like to find a place to be able to spend my life in a quiet place and enjoy my life as best as I can. I love the mountain area. I have always wanted to move out there. At 66 I am finally going to live all my dreams as best as I can. I just would like not to be close to a city. I have no real attachments here. I am starting a new life and this move is part of that.

Same here. I'm 67 and have been living in the Black Hills of South Dakota for the past ten years. It is time to move to a safer state and hopefully enjoy some peace and quiet.

What is REFUGE restrooms?
Refuge Restrooms is a web application that seeks to provide safe restroom access for transgender, intersex, and gender nonconforming individuals. Users can search for restrooms by proximity to a search location, add new restroom listings, as well as comment and rate existing listings.

We're trans led and seek to create a community focused not only on finding existing safe restroom access, but also advocating for transgender, intersex, and gender nonconforming people's safety.

I currently live in az which has been down graded to low risk to medium risk.

If I had to move again I would be considering Washington, Oregon, California, Maryland and maybe Colorado

Lori Dee

We might have to establish a transgender refugee resort in Colorado. Fremont County (Canon City area) probably wouldn't notice since they have more prisons in that county than anywhere else in the country. 15 prisons in one county!

So one more compound surrounded by barbed wire and machinegun nests would fit right in.  ;D

Mrs. Oliphant

If you plan on traveling from anywhere north and east of Colorado to Colorado, it's probably best if you avoid I-90. My home state of Montana is rabidly anti-trans (Zooey Zephyr aside). I live in the middle of nowhere on twenty acres of nothing. I would love to go grocery shopping wearing a dress, but it's unlikely I would survive the adventure.

Yea. I've also been starting to look into other countries that hate more LGBTQ+ friendly just in case. Unfortunately financially speaking I would most likely be limited to Mexico or Canada lol. So prob Canada. I know a more trans people there than I do in Mexico

Some countries even offer four to six year visas for potential new residents who are considering moving there gives them ample time to try it out and find a job and area they would like to potentially move to

Robbyv213

But like anything else I guess the grass is not necessarily greener on the other side of the fence either
