Well, sort of. My name is Liz. I was here a few years ago as Emily Alt. I wasn't very active then, and can't say this go-round will be any different. But I hope it is! We'll see.
So, a little bit about me. Liz is my legal name. I'm sixty-something. I look and live much younger. I reside in a small town in rural Norfolk, UK. I moved here from San Diego about three months ago. Yes, I left the US for what I hope are greener pastures in the UK. It helps that I have a network of close friends here. Norfolk is peaceful and quaint. The locals have been very accepting. I feel safe here. The one big city, Norwich, is a short drive. It has everything one might expect from a big city without being overwhelming.
I started my transition four years ago. HRT and some cosmetic stuff so far. I plan to have surgery to better align my body and mind. I'm very OUT and living authentically. I get gendered correctly most of the time, but don't worry about passing. Our community benefits when they see a trans woman who's not a threat.
Why did I come back? I need a better outlet. I'm on a couple of other support sites. One is massive and is a toxic dump of doomerism and trolls. The other is a smaller support site that's quite restrictive. I love that it's an oasis from toxicity. But I can't freely speak my mind either. From what I remember of Susan's, I think it will fill that gap.
So that's about it for now. Looking forward to getting to know you. Would love to meet any local UK girls that are out there.
Hugs,
Liz
