Susan

I deleted a transsexual users account today for disparaging intolerant comments aimed non-transexual transgender individuals. I will delete the account of anyone doing so in the future as well. While we transsexuals may not always understand the compulsions that drive non-transsexuals they had no more choice in the matter, than most transsexuals do about transitioning. This applies equally to everyone transsexual or not. I sincerly hope you are listening as well Annwyn.

disparaging no.  Debate yes.  I try to ride a very fine line: In that I think an MtF who wants to go to a traditional female collage had my support, and FtM does not.  In the world of picking sides, you have to pick one, or the other, both is not a good choice.

I have to say you have a better record than most in this regard.

This is the kind of thing I mean.

QuoteOh yeah some may remember me from being on here once before. And they will remember as well as the people who know me personally that I have ZERO tolerance for ->-bleeped-<- males presenting (masquarading) as Transexuals.

Once you adopt an attitude of this nature, someone has to pick who is and who isn't an "->-bleeped-<- male presenting (masquarading) as Transsexuals," and usually to drive them off. I won't let that kind of stuff get started on this site.  As the terms of service state:

QuoteEvery one is welcome at Susan's Place if you follow a few basic rules: This site is an open support area and is not generally sexually oriented. This site is for the discussion of issues related to gender and may include Transsexualism, Transvestism, Crossdressing, or other related topics. This web site exists try to provide constructive input and support.

Many people even on this site have started out thinking they were one thing, and later came to understand that they were actually something else. This site provided them the framework which enables them to come to a better understanding of themselves. We don't scar them forever with a brand that eventually may not be the best fit.

OK, I never say stuff like this, but you rock Susan.  A fair and wise guide, I'll do my best to adhere to it.

Well, Susan, you did what you had to do. I don't see this forum as a place to vent hate. If I am P.O.'ed at a group, I'll do it on my own mail site, or to my minister, who listens and places no judgments. That way, it won't hurt anyone else. While I ain't the most tolerant person of some groups who appear to try to make Trans people look bad, I usually try to keep it to myself. There is enough squabbling in the world anyway.

Just so I know I'm not in the wrong place, an androgyne who is uncertain about if or when he'll transition MtF is welcome here. Right? I mean, I didn't join the wrong board, did I?

If this board is intended for transgendered and transsexual persons and not for folks who are still uncertain, I'll leave quietly.

RebeccaFog

you're in the right place, Shades.    :)

If I catch you trying to leave, I'll lock you in a closet.    ;)

Don't go anywhere Shades! Your posts are way too cool to lose. You're not too shabby either. ;)

Rebis and Simone, thanks. It seems that most members here are TG or TS, and I was beginning to think I might have goofed in signing up.

Aw, we're an equal-opportunity minority group. If you've had some zitty teenager say something nasty about you, (even back when you were a zitty teenager!) you just about qualify!

Of course you are welcome Shades :)  There are a lot of people who come here thinking they are TS and figure out they aren't or vice versa or Androgyne then something else. The great thing about Susan's is that all gender types are welcomed as long as they follow the rules.

I think sometimes we do far too much dividing versus banding together, but I guess that's a universal equality problem that happens in many movements/groups.

Thanks.

I just wanted to be sure as I feel I might have made a few enemies already. I've had bad experiences on message boards before, possibly because I joined a board that might not have been a good match. I'd rather not get inadvertently involved in flame wars again.

We tend to have good fire-persons on this board, Shades. And I believe Susan's warning applies for any 'enemy lists' that might have been drawn up.

No one has to like you, just respect that you are perfectly valid whether you are TG, Androgyne, CD, DQ, TS or questioning of any and all of those designators.
