anything that you will miss as a guy?

For me, there is nothing physical or superficial that I would miss from being a guy. The things that are hardest for me will be the relationships with spouse, family, and friends that are bound to change. Although I desparately want to be accepted and treated as a woman, the people in my life who I have had the closest relationships with have always related to me as male.

OK ... on a less serious note .. what could I miss?

- More options for dealing with messy or cold toilets
- Not having "after-drip" issues from sex
- Going topless on very rare occasions (I don't enjoy this as a male, anyway.)
- Not having to worry about electrolysis or long term hormone use
- feeling expectations to participate in inane conversations about sports, cars, or guns
- being excluded from the friendships with other women that women seem to have more easily

Really, there's not much.

Another thing I thought of today was that as a guy, you don't really think too much about how others are observing you, but as a woman, you have to constantly evaluate how other women are seeing you.  I know that this isn't just because I'm TS, but I know just about all other women experience this as well, so it comes with the package.

Holy smokes Melissa, that's quite a list of things that you going to miss.

Heh heh, but it doesn't outnumber the things I won't miss.  Really though, it's more of an inconvenience rather than missing them.

Here is a really short and simple answer to what I will miss.

                                     N O T H I N G
Nameless here for evermore!;  Merely this, and nothing more;
Tis the wind and nothing more!;  Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore!!"

I will miss the closeness and comradary that I came to rely on from my wife, I lost the best friend that I ever had. I pray that there is another out there for me.............................. Does lightning strike the same place twice?
"I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?" - Fred Rogers

I agreee with melissa,  The emotional rule is very rigid with guys. I too had to live with that my whole life and it sucked. I can get quite emotional very easly and I always was told to just stop it. :'( I long for the day I can just let it out with out being scrutinized. It's far easyer for women. ;)

love being female

I thought of another.  As a man, the size of the dating pool of women is significantly higher.  As a woman, it gets harder to another woman who is attracted to women.

I take this one back.  I've already had better luck with women (relationship-wise) as female than I ever did as male.

If you consider your self  "biosexual" then your chances of getting a date on Saturday night are increased by 50%!
Thanks for the beer Melissa! ;)

What is "biosexual" and how is that different than bisexual?...or is that what you meant?

I consider myself "mostly lesbian", since most of the people I find myself attracted to are women.

You're welcome on the beer Chynna, I have an unlimited supply:  :icon_drunk: :icon_drunk: :icon_drunk: :icon_drunk: :icon_drunk:  ;D

I have been full time for about 5 years now and I'm post op 2 years and I started transitioning about 8-10 years ago. I have not missed anything about being a guy. Nothing at all. I'm glad I'm missing something and I'm not looking for it.

I am so ready to ditch ALL guy things.  I am not looking back.  I figured out that when it comes to "inappropriate behavior" guys have more freedom, but when it comes to "appropriate behavior" women have more freedom.  I'll just act appropriately.

Please do not buy into the "Oh I transitioned, I'm a woman and I can't, won't or forgot how to do ??????, any thing that would be what a male normally does.

How many women are in the trades, carpenters, electricians, construction?

A post was made about fast cars and street racing, which is for punks..  Look at real race car drivers that just happen to be women.  NHRA, Indy 500 are a few.
