A good bit of your past life will still be there because it was your past life and can't be changed. Those of us who transition late in life have a lot of the old socialization to overcome. Some comes easily, and some comes hard.
In the transactivism organizations I've belonged to, I've seen what I call 'virtual testosterone' in some of the other older MTF board members. They sometimes revert to old male habits, old socialization.
My husband gets upset sometimes that I had more career opportunities than he did, tied down as he was with 4 children to raise and disfunctional husbands who did little to help. Can't be helped; neither of us transitioned until late 50s, early 60s.
What do I miss? Well, a little more upper body strenght would be nice, but I haven't done any exercise to promote it. My bad.
Christy Lee, if you transition at an early age, you will have less baggage to carry. But don't opt out of the best education you can get.
