Well late Sunday night I stayed up all night playing a computer game. This resulted in me going to a Monday morning service call feeling like I was being smothered in a warm blanket. You know that horrible feeling you get when you have been up for over 24 hours straight.
Well I figured that the installation would go quick and I could get home and go to bed. I had to configure a router for a company's isdn connection. I can now after several hours of sleep look back at it and laugh!
First off the company did not have the software to configure the router with which was ok since you could connect into it directly or go into the router by a cable and configure it that way. Teehee giggle giggle they didn't have password for the router to connect to it nor the cable needed to get into it that way. I tried a cable I had in my car and that didn't work; I will talk more about that later on.
So off the gentleman from the company and I go to buy a cable. The closest computer store didn't have the cable. So we go to Radio Shack which was sadly lacking as well. We then proceed to my bosses' house to look for my company's copy of that cable and the software for our version of this router. Well we head back to the job site. When we get there the cables I picked up did not have the correct end on them and the software said it did not recognize what we told it to hook up to. Back in to the gentleman's pickup truck and off we fly to the local electronic shop to buy that pain in my rear cable. We get there and find what we need and are back out to the vehicle and on our way back to the job site. As a good citizen of my town I am showing the out of town gentleman places I liked to eat and such to pass the time.
We arrive back to the work place and I hook up the cable to find out that this one didn't work either. I ponder to my self. The fact is that it should have worked with one of the two so I go back to the original cable that I tried and hook it up. Still a no go there. I then check the settings on the software I was using and oops the computer and the router were talking to each other at two different speeds. Think someone speaking Greek at 10 words a minute and someone speaking it at 20 neither one of them knew what the other was saying. This now fixed I go into the equipment and set it up in just a couple of minutes. I leave having billed them 4 hours of labor. I return to my bosses' house to put up the cables and software I borrowed from him.
I then head to my house it's about 3pm when i went to bed. I woke up at 2am and now after writing this I go back to bed at 3am
