Any ideas on the best way to support re: surgey prep, doctors visits/physicals? I am a SO of a FtM starting T in two weeks. Any insight regarding these up coming changes will also be appreciated. I know that his voice will get lower & 'chub' will migrate to the tummy area but I am not sure what else to expect. Personal experience about how it felt ot be on T in the beginning & onwards would be great, also SO's exp would be valuble ie tips.
Thanks ~Spike

You might see a difference in energy level. My energy increased at first. And I was on a two week shot cycle, so I'd start to get really dragged out in the last few days before my shot. That changed when I got onto a one week cycle.

Emotionally, I felt much more stable. I think most do. A few say they're quicker to anger though. You might see what you think is him withdrawing emotionally. It's not though; it's just expressing it differently.

Physically, there's also hair growth, which doesn't seem to cooperate with where you actually want to grow hair.

And he'll be hornier than a ten-peckered billy goat. That gets easier to manage as time goes by.

Have fun with it :)

Marco is starting T tomorrow!  Since he was on it 17 years ago, he still has some residual effects from it.  When the voice changes, it is permanent, so even if you stop it, it still stays low.  Also, you will notice a change downstairs.  It will start looking, not so female, to more of a small male appendage.  That is another thing that is irreversible, thus Marco's is like that.  Marco also has beard growth (a small amount under the chin) and other body hair that seems to be filling in, even before starting back on T.  Marco can vouch for the horniness aspect...he said it was an overwhelming sex drive when he was on T before.  He is wondering if it will be a little different now that he is older...hmmmm...I sure hope not, I've been looking forward to that aspect of it.  I'm hoping the anger thing isn't too pronounced.  We are both under so much stress right now, that will be a drawback if it heightens his anger.  He said he didn't really remember having all that much effect on that before.  We shall see...

We might be on here a little less after tomorrow...if ya know what I mean...  ;)

Yeah I didn't notice any effect with respect to anger. Some report it, but didn't affect me that way.

I doubt that Marco will find age tempers the horniness at all. I'm 43 and felt like a 14 year old boy. I can't imagine how bio boys cope with it when they haven't any maturity.

The short but sad answer is that they don't.  That's why we have 4 pregnant girls in school this year, and I have 2 of them.  (Class size is about 90 kids per grade level in high school and middle school.)

I wonder how I survived, never mind coped, with the comination of puberty and my gender dysphoria
