Went and saw 'Get Smart' I really liked it even tho i didnt get all the jokes cos i didnt watch the original show. but it was still awesome

I saw "Soldier's Girl" last night. It is about a soldier and a MtF woman.
I found it a beautiful movie and I'm sure I will see it again in the (near) future; perhaps with my girlfriend.

The 1987 film adaptation of E. M. Forster's Maurice. The movie as of about half an hour ago, the book about six hours ago. Both brilliant. It's a shame the book wasn't published earlier (written 1914, published 1971) - would have been horrendously controversial, of course, but would also have caused greater awareness of LGBT community. Oh well. Both great, I recommend them (though I suggest reading the book first).

Nim's Island was the last in-cinema movie we saw. I loved it, it was a sweet and neat tale. Of course, I absolutely love Jodie Foster and she played the agoraphobic author really well, of course!! And the Little Miss Sunshine girl was excellent as Nim as well. It was a good story and a good "heart" movie. Even my 10 year old "Ninja Warrior" liked it and that sort of movie can be a hard-sell for him when he could see Iron Man instead. 

At home, the last one we watched was August Rush, Catherine and I had seen it in the theaters, but the Ninja hadn't. Again, he loved/loves it. We've had it for three weeks now and it's been watched probably 10 times!! The story is fanciful, of course, but again, a very "heart" appealing fancy. The acting is excellent, so good that perhaps Robin Williams is kinda shadowed by Keri Russell and omg! the little boy from Finding Neverland. So bad at child-actor names except for Dakota Fanning who seems ubiquitous!!

Anyhoo, I'd recommed both, highly, for people that sort of "chick flick" movie appeals to.

The last film I watched on TV was called 'Strange Days' with Ralph Fiennes. It was a very well done sci-fi/thriller and really fast paced. I would love a device like the ones in that film, where you can live other people's memories.

There's actually a really interesting part in the film, near the beginning, where Fiennes' character is trying to sell one of these memory disks to a middle-aged businessman, and he's explaining all the benefits. He's like "have you ever wanted to be a girl? With this you can." Then he proceeds to give the buisnessman a demo using the memory of an eighteen year old girl taking a shower.

Very interesting.

Anyway, here's the trailer. It's a 1995 film, but I really enjoyed it.

The last movie I saw was on DVD.  The Fantastic Four, Rise of the Silver Surfer.  I love Sci Fi films.

And I saw the newest Harry Potter movie recently.

In the theatre: Prince Caspian - Which I actually enjoyed more than The Lion, the Witch and th Wardrobe.  That surprised me, since I remembered Prince Caspian as being my least favorite of the Narnia books.  But maybe I've been getting it mixed up with Voyage of the Dawn Treader.  At any rate, I hope they eventually do a movie of The Magician's Nephew, since that was far and away my favorite Narnia book.

Anyway, most recently on DVD I watched Cloak and Dagger, which was one of my all-time favorite movies when I was a kid, but I hadn't seen it since I was probably 12 or 13.  It actually held up pretty well, despite the fact that the girl who played Kim couldn't act to save her life.  (I always thought so.  But her part was small enough that I could mostly ignore her.  Made it kind of hard to care, though, when Davey realizes that she's about to be blown to bits. >)

The Magicians Nephew Was my favorite, too.  It would make a great movie but expensive to produce.  Of course they could just use LA as the location for Jadiz's home world!

Hubby and I went and saw Hancock last week and yah, we liked it.  Liked Wanted better, but Hancock had more to it than we were expecting, which is always nice.
