moving & staying on hormones

I just started.
Got my first shot today.
Woo.

Anyways, I'm planning to move in March..back to Oregon.
How do you go about staying on hormones.

I'm sure you have to get a new Endo and all that but does this mean having to stop taking hormones for awhile and start all over?

I'd say about a month or a couple weeks before moving back to Oregon call the medical department you plan on working with ahead of time and set up an appointment for soon after you move there. When they ask what the appointment is for tell them that you want to talk to an endocrinologist about your testosterone injections.

That's what I'd do... I guess.

Other people might know better. Maybe T comes by prescription? I think prescriptions are valid anywhere... get one before you leave and tell your new doctor you need it renewed.

Get a couple of vials, do this anyways because periodically there are shortages. Use the oldest vial first and don't get more then will expire. Get a letter from your doctor and walk into your new doctor and hand it to them. If they refuse get a new doctor, no responsible doctor will stop testosterone abruptly because it is too dangerous. They may want a psych exam declaring your competency and that can help if you suggest it. Otherwise I have switched doctor a few times and never had a problem. Once your records are faxed over they can see that it is prescribed legitimately.

And do you always have to get more presciptions to get more?

Tell doctor you are moving and don't have a doctor yet. Ask for your normal script with repeats on it. Most docs will do 3 repeats without a second thought. Ask pharmacist for all of it, tell them you are travelling or moving and it shouldn't be a problem. When the repeats on the script run out, yes you need a new script. It isn't a lot of seeing doctors because by the time you are on it for a while you only see them once a year and they give you repeats.

It doesn't matter if it costs more up front, always keep at least one spare bottle. Trust me, they had 4 shortages since I started and one right before I started. It is better to have extra then to have none. Remember it isn't like you don't use it but it gives you a buffer. I have 2 vials in my cupboard and I don't even use it now. I won't get rid of it or my androgel until it expires because you just never know. I will die before I go off my T again.

but it costs me 112.99 without insurance
and my dads insurance probably doesnt cover it
i cant payfor 3 vials at once...
i dont have the money to do that right now..

Check your bottle, but the expiry from manufacturing is between 3- 5 years depending on the particular formula. Don't take a bottle from a pharmacist that has less then a year remaining. It is illegal here and at minimum unethical in the states for a pharmacist to dispense testosterone with less the a year expiry. I understand it is expensive and when I first started I paid out of pocket myself and ignored the advice to keep a second bottle handy. I regretted it and thats why I am advising you this way. You are paying way too much for your testosterone however.
