So, I have a yeast infection. Everything down there is perfect, and the doc says it's healed very well and nothing is wrong with the parts and none of the parts are infected -- but I've got a yeast infection.

The reason is that I'm battling bronchitis (a lung infection, in other words) and my immune system is down. Also, the good bacterial inside of me isn't 100% strong yet, so evil yeasts demons have taken over.  They took swabs of it to confirm. Welcome to your first girlie problem, girl!

The good thing is that I just take the normal yeast infection stuff a woman takes and it goes away. And I'm not badly infected at the moment, it's pretty minor. The bad thing is that the antibiotics for the lung infection can also kill off the good bacteria, which also can cause yeast infections since it buggers up the good bacteria trying to grow down there, which puts your vagina balance in order.

I'm glad it's only minor. It sux being sick. I need the antibiotics for my lung infection, but on the other side of the coin it doesn't help the yeast infection. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I clean myself down there pretty well, but ironically the doctors said I could be doing it too well and upsetting the balance down there. X_x

Being a girl is awesome possum. ;) (ur, except when you get a yeast infection, the rest of it is by far much better. LOL)

You will enjoy your first mammogram about as much as the yeast infection  :o

Wait until you have a yeast infection that gets you out of bed in the middle of the night with an itch like Poison Ivy!

My ex never had that problem.  She said it was because she slept with out panties.  I have also read that you should always wear cotton panties and if you get an infection to 'nuke' them for 10 seconds.  I don't have any proof by it was in a woman's magazine.

Thanks for reminding me. I forgot to schedule my mammogram. I got the notice I was due a month ago. This will be my fifth. I've got my fingers crossed already for which tech I get. A good tech means less discomfort and a bad one means it will be out right painful. I had mastalgia a year ago and it never went away completely and I really don't want to aggravate it.

If I may step in with you ladies for a moment...

You said that your doc told you that you might be cleaning up too well and that that doesn't help the balance. This is true. Please don't believe all the advertising for cleaning "down there" with all sorts of lotions, soaps and other stuff. All you need is water and a wash cloth. My mum told me that soap upsets the pH balance, and that the body is very capable of cleaning itself. Now, of course, she spoke about bio females, but I would think it is not much different for you ladies.
So, water and a wash cloth (or hands, which ever you prefer). I always cleaned up like that, and never had a problem with infections down there.

Yeah, the Ph balance and bacteria is pretty much the same as a natal woman, I hear (if not exactly the same). Of course, right after surgery you need to clean the areas with anti-bacterial stuff to prevent infection of the healing parts, but once those parts are healed, you've got to stop 'cause your body is trying to establish it's Ph and friendly flora, etc. And here I was, still cleaning with anti-bacterial stuff not knowing that it was actually counteracting my healing (I thought I was being extra careful and diligent). Then I got sick with a lung infection, so once the immune was down and I kept messing up down there with soap, it gave a perfect chance for yeast demon to come and visit me.

Check with your doctor about taking acidophilous. It restores "good" bacteria. Also, eating yogurt with active cultures helps restore the balance of bacteria. In fact, I've heard that in general eating yogurt can help prevent yeast infections.

On the other hand, your not 18, preggers by some 21 year old abusive dunk, so a yeast infection may not be the worst thing girls ever go through.

Hi, Natalie, hon, and all.

You are quite right about if some part of your body is infected from something in a certain area, your immune system will be concentrated in that particular area. It's like when catching a cold, like in the old days they use to say that if you had cold feet you would catch a cold. Well, that old saying is quite true even if they didn't understand the process of why. The immune system's effectiveness drops while working over time on the cold feet leaving you wide open for another virus elsewhere.

Same goes for a ** a lung infection**,  bronchitis. Do you smoke? The reason why I mention smoking is that I had bronchitis throughout my twenties, really badly. Well, I began by sneak smoking when I was 15 years old smoked until I was 30 years old.  I had  bronchitis and knew I would have to quit smoking.

The doctor at the time told me that quitting smoking would only reduce the symptoms, it would not be the cure all. I quit smoking for twenty years and no bronchitis, gone. I began again 8 years ago and five years later the symptoms began to return so I quit again just last year and no recurrence of bronchitis since. Marijuana will affect your lungs the same way, actually in some cases, more so in a lesser amount of time compared to tobacco.

Sitting here watching my RRS feeds and the Olympics with my friends, and the girls here have loved reading these posts.  (not mine, the topics in general)  Still I did 10 miles on my bike today and I did shower.  So not too bad.

I am still douching with betadyne.  It has been 11 months since the colon graft and I am still bleeding and overlubricating.  My doc said the bleeding and overlubricating should stop after 8 months.  Could the betadyne be upsetting my "balance?"  What happens when the "balance" is upset?

I went 12 years after penile inversion with no issues, so I don't know what the big deal is.

Yeah, I think I've got a UTI.  Back to the doctor's on Monday for me.

Oh, I had Asthma as a kid and I can get Bronchitis very easily, even when I didn't smoke (actually, I got it more when I didn't smoke than did smoking). I've cut down a lot and smoke the lightest ones so far. I quit for surgery for a while, but then came home to a gf who was cheating on me with a guy and being a junkie... so with the stress of that and a zillion other things since I got back home, I started again. I'm still going through a lot of stressful things and I didn't prepare for or imagined would happen when I got back. It's been a very difficult time for me, actually. I'll probably try again soon. So far I've just been cutting down.

I'm hoping the antibiotics start kicking in. I've got a lung infection, eye infection, ear infection, gum infection, sinus infection... it's spreading like crazy and my glads are swollen. (The yeast infection is starting to go away, although). If I don't start getting better by tomorrow, I'm going back to the doctors. I talked to my Auntie who's a doctor in Montreal and she told me which antibiotic I should be on (and it's not the one I'm on) if it doesn't start clearing up by tomorrow. As of this afternoon, I've been feeling a bit better and being more mobile, etc. And last night I think I slept the most in days, since I only woke up coughing a few times... the other nights I couldn't sleep the coughing was so bad.

I'm allergic to many/most cough medications, so I don't get relief that way.

Hi Natalie hon, try Echinacea, it's a herb, I swear by that stuff, and you can get it over the counter. It's an immune system booster I haven't even caught a cold since I started taking it 4years ago. It comes in the form of a capsule. I take one per day and three when I feel a symptom of a cold. And yea I will only say that quiting smoking would be a bonus no doubt.

As for allergies you might want to see an allergist, Wing Walker does and I beleive she isn't even having any reactions to what ever nice bugies and polen could be lurking in the environment around us. I would recommend you consult with a physician and a gynecologist.

yeah, tried it, it doesn't work too well. I've been taking Oregano Oil, and that seems to help. And eating yogurt. A lot of women have been telling me to do so and one of my friends bought me some because I can't afford yogurt (or any kind of food) at the moment, so that was sweet of her.

I get UTI's  a lot. The doctor says it is because of my job. I drive a bus and sometimes I have to hold it for longer than I should. I also ride a bike and she says that might cause it too. I take some cranberry pills instead of the juice and I haven't had one in two months now. Of course school is out.

Tekla......Butter makes good choc chip cookies........  I actually made some the other day.  I ate 6, big mistake.   :icon_rah: :icon_google:

You only need to butter it when it gets squeaky. May I recommend Becel Margarine

Hi Audry, I can bake pastries and I can make the best stew and roasts  this side of Albequoiky.

I tend to itch down there, but think from pads :(     Had a UTI before in past, but am allergic to Cranberries so thats one thing I can't do lol
Every day we pass people, do we see them or the mask they wear?
If you live under a mask long enough, does it eventually break or wear down?  Does it become part you?  Maybe alone, they are truly themselves?  Or maybe they have forgotten or buried themselves so long, they forget they are not a mask?
