Heh.  I'm not sure if could answer the OP's question or not.  I'm not on T, and never will be on T, and it's not for medical reasons or anything, it's a personal decision of sorts, but I'm not sure I can say I'm "transitioning" either.

Is it your goal to live as male? Why no T?

Aidan

My goal is to live as much as as male as I possibly can.  But I have some limitations, which are also why the no T.

I'm a little shy about discussing it, as I get a lot of misunderstanding and not-so-great reactions, but I have multiple personalities.  I share my body with several other people, and thus I cannot make permanent changes to it.  Particularly as some of them are females.  And since some of us have to be the "wrong" gender for our body in either case, we might as well save the money, and effort, and funky side-effects and just deal with being physically female, is what it boils down to.

I bind, and wear guy's clothes, though I don't pass worth beans, I'm at least androgynous, so I don't have to look like a girl.  :P  That's as much as I can do, really.  We're still arguing over the hair cut.  :)

I'd say that your case isn't really personal choice but more medically unable.

OP is on T, has been on T and always wanted to be on T.  OP passed 'til he opened his mouth pre-T.  OP is curious about those who opt for no-T.

I've been contacted by a few via PM, probably because they don't want to get slammed 'round these parts.

well i'm on T but i can tell you why i was against it.

It was a spiritual thing.   I don't believe in putting anything artificial into my body.  If i get sick i let it run its course.  No antibiotics.  No medications.  If i ever got cancer i wouldn't do chemo or radiation.

I was born this way for a reason, maybe i was meant to live life trapped and miserable.  That's what i thought.

So, JT, invasive question--as such, tell me off if you want.

Are you religious? If so, what religion?

I originally wanted to be a no-ho because i was scared about health concerns, i don't really want facial hair etc... but i look like a girl and sound like a girl and I Can't Frelling Take It.

nope, not religious at all.  Just a weird philosophy mainly having to do with population control.

I couldn't take it either.  But it took me a long time to come around.  Best thing i could have done.

A lot of people blame "birth control in the water" for certain things. I dunno, I've been doing Info Studies and my brain is melted.  ;D

oh no... lol.  i've never heard of that one.

i just believe that everything happens for a reason.  i believe that trans and gay people are naturally occurring and in response to overpopulation.  we are the response to people who feel like they need to reproduce like bunny rabbits.  so i don't believe in in-vitro or sperm banks or any of that stuff.

same with cancer and other diseases, a response to overpopulation and the increased lifespan which is mainly due to medical advances.  I'm a firm believer in natural selection, survival of the fittest.

That is FASCINATING! Would really like to talk to you more about that, maybe in PM?

Do not worry.  You are not crazy.  I too share these views and get a lot of crap for it when I tell people about it.  My sister always tells me to STFU whenever I go off on that tangent in conversation.

i thought i wanted to go on T for a while, went to a gender specialist and right when she was about to write my letter i decided against it. i don't know if i really fall into the category of transition without T because i'm not really transitioning all the way, but i am getting top surgery and was diagnosed with GID. my reasoning is just that i don't want to blend in with straight society, don't want to date straight women, i don't want male privilege. i'm content in the fact that when people see me now, they can't tell what i am but they just know i'm queer, i like being part of that community. the best way i can describe it is i hate my body but love my identity and don't want to give that up.

That's something a lot of us go through -- not wanting to go from being perceived as queer to being perceived as...well, mainstream. I've been on T for a couple of years, and I've found that there are still ways to be queer/lesbian/genderqueer/whatever while still being perceived as male -- the queer community hasn't rejected me at all.

For me, it's been sort of the opposite, since I'm attracted to men. Living as a female with a male lover, I've always felt that I didn't quite belong in the so-called queer community. I felt like a fake. And that hurt like hell.

Now that I'm reclaiming my true gender, I'm also reclaiming my true sexuality. It's a heady feeling.

All of which is a bit off topic, but I wanted to say it nonetheless.

I don't plan to "ransition," but I might go on T only temporarily. I'll have to wait and see.
