G'morning guys!

Maybe it's because I didn't go to sleep all night, or because they decided to turn the air conditioning off in my dorm for fall break, and it won't be back on until this afternoon. But for whatever reason, I was struck by a crazy urge to get all prettied up. This isn't to say that I don't care if I pass or not (if I get too many ma'ams, it's right back into the black and navy jacket), but I'm curious as to how people will react. Both those I know, and those I don't.

A couple months ago, I got to the point where I feel 100% like I'm in drag when I wear girls' clothes. I'm not sure how it happened, how I managed to train myself to feel this way, but it's a very nice feeling. So I figured I might as well see what other people think.

And of course, pics or it didn't happen:

I see a lot of guys your age wearing stuff like that, so I don't think you look like a ma'am at all, just a cute boy who likes fun clothes!

I'd wear tighter clothes if I was on T and had chest surgery. I can't really bind enough to make my chest flat without buying a special binder. Plus I told myself I wouldn't. Chances are pretty high I'll have chest surgery with Brownstein or Fisher.

The jacket is definitely the most girly part. There are sparkles. o.o; But yeah, I knowww, I know I have fluffy hair lately. I'm getting a haircut soon.

Really, who says guys can't wear sparkly and pretty clothes? I wear a decent amount of jewelry for a guy, and I've never gotten crap for it. I put glitter in my hair occasionally, and even paint my nails once in awhile. In most places, it's totally acceptable for a guy to be fairly metrosexual. And I'm not gay... I'm bi, but in a heterosexual relationship. I don't see why we're expected to adhere to strict gender guidelines, anyway. Just my two cents' worth.

I guess I have to worry a little more, because I'm in Tennessee. I WAS in Nashville, which is pretty permissive, but now I'm in a smaller town. I'm at college, though, so I think it evens out. But still...Tennessee.

Sweettt. That's my goal in life. -grin-

Mine too! (grinning) I loved the shoe-laces! I'm in Mississippi myself, so I know what you mean! "Fancy dress" for a lot of us guys seems to be black Wranglers, shiny new cowboy boots and one of those tacky black shirts with the flame design... with a giant belt buckle, of course. Yee-haw. (grin) But even down here I do see a lot guys that dress like you did yesterday. I think most people (over a certain age) just think it's a "Goth phase" (eye roll).
I've always worn "interesting" (a/k/a weird) stuff. I think it's because I feel like I'm always in "costume" as a female, anyway. (I'm going to have the oddest stuff at my garage sale one day!)

How did it go for you? I'd love to know how people reacted and how you feel about it.

Oh, and you are cute! You're so lucky you can pass! I'm so envious of all y'all who can... but with my voice and these "big ol' boomers" (my Mom's term for them!) I can't. Yet.

Well you definately look 100% guy to me even "prettied up".
I'm a little jealous frankly.

I honestly wouldn't class the clothes as particularly girly tho but then I really don't think that nail polish and a few sparkles here and there should be exclusive worn by women.
Heck even if a guy wants to wear a skirt really why shouldn't they?

damned emo kids ... sheesh. All those teenage boys these days stealing their sisters' jeans and dark nail polish. :P ;)

You pull it off well, I think. :) Not girly or even gay, just a bit fashionably effeminate.

Maybe I'm just used to guys in cute clothes, but you look 100% guy to me. If I saw you walking down the street somewhere, I don't think I would even consider that you might be anything other than a guy, in cute clothes. :)

Don't worry, you don't look female, just a bit metro, and very cute.

Omg. -melts from all the compliments- As for the admittedly fierce sunglasses...$7.49 at Walgreen's. Re: people's reactions, it was too warm for the jacket, but no one said anything. I got more she's and ma'ams though. It kindof irked me, but I'm going to continue to wear emo jeans and rainbow shoelaces. I'm just going back to black t-shirts instead of cute ones.

I really don't see how you got any she's and ma'ams, like everyone else said you just look like a really cutely dressed guy to me. You REALLY pass in the face, imo. The eyebrows help out a lot for some reason.
