Impossible Bra Sizes?

I went shopping today to find a bra and some make-up. The make up is an easy and fun thing for me but bra shopping is nightmareish! I have an extremely irregular chest size for a GG being a 48-B and there are simply no bras that cater to my frame since I'm pre-HRT. The closest I've been able to find is a 48-C and I can stuff it or use breast forms but still I am looking for a bra that fits without all the work.
Right now I've filed this issue under "motivation" to get my butt in gear and start seeing a gender therapist(which means I've gotta go and have another conversation with my mother but that's an entirely different thread). What I was wondering is if people have had similar issues. I'm trying to stick to actually physically shopping rather than ordering online because I need to try a bra on to make sure that this size is really fits. So if anyone has any recommendations I'd greatly appreciate any ideas.
Thanky!

I found a site that might help.  Bare Necessities. They have listings for your size.

There is also a site called One Stop Plus with several shops that cater to such sizes  :)

Great prices too

You can buy extenders possibly widen the band. It depends on how close the closest fitting B. It normally adds a few inches.

Thank you all,
I might try the extender route. Still gotta scrape together some money(alas being a college student sucks). Also can you pick up extenders at a department store?
Thanky

If you can't find them at a department store, try a sewing store such as Jo Anns.  I have seen the there.

You may also want to try stores such as Layne Bryant to see what they have. What you're running into is that many women who have large band sizes also have larger chest sizes as well. Most places don't stock beyond a 44 band size either, after that it's catalog/special order. Be prepared for them to be expensive as well; you're probably talking $30-40+ each. The bane of being large - no cheap bras for us :) There are lots of places that have websites that cater to larger women, though, so do some searching.

Happy shopping!

Sewing shops for sure, I saw they in Walmart near the bras and in the sewing area, I think I even saw them in the hobby store in the sewing area.

Hi Sarrah,

You could try a sports bra?

Remember that the size by itself doesn't have to apply to us TG types.  I can wear anything from four inches below my chest measurement up to six inches greater with some degree of success.  There is also no rule that says we can't use anything that pre-hormone GG girls do.  Do remember to take the Kleenex out of the box before putting in your bra to fluff you out.  Lane Bryant Stores are a good place I agree.  Surprisingly, I found that some Wal-Mart's have cheap bra enhancers that I normally associated with Fredericks Of Hollywood (FOH does not have a good line of large Bra's though).  At Wal Mart, see the Just My Size brand, the trick there is that they seem to have longer bra straps which M2F TG's need.  They are about $12 here in rainy Southern California.

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

Try not to feel too badly, nightmarish bra shopping is a reality of being female. Most of what's out there is designed for one type of boob (what's with all the molded cups, mine aren't shaped that way). Even though I'm only a 34C, I'm what they call "full-figured", so bras aren't cheap. Quite frankly, I'll be glad to be rid of them. Fit and comfort should be your first priorities. And remember, there's a huge percentage of women who don't wear the proper size. So, I wish you luck navigating the choppy seas of women's undergarments.

Just an update!
This past weekend I went out with a friends and we went to a plus sized. store and it was like heaven! Not only did i find a bra that fits-it fits incredibly well. Also! in addition to this I got a pair of heels for $10 and another pair of shoes. The heels are 3 inches but hell practice makes perfect!
Thanks for the help everyone!
