So, I have finally started HRT, and I feel amazing.

I can't say that it is the drugs, but I know I feel amazing.  I started yesterday, and today I just feel so good.  I know it is probably just a mental thing from starting, but I am so happy.

I noticed that I am laughing more, and am just happier.  It is truly and amazing experience.

The placebo effect of any medication is the expected result.  The calming is the first, then the changes.

The placebo effect...

Mmm. I think calling it placebo might be a bit hard.

Knowing that you are going forward even before any pharmocological change occurs is very powerful.

Congratulations Valerie! How exciting! Did you mark the day on the calendar? Not many people get second birthdays  :-*

Make SURE and stay hydrated! Spiro (assuming youre using it) will steal your joy in nothing flat when it starts punching you in the back of the head from dehydration.

For sure.  My endo told me it would be dehydrating.  I have been drinking quite a bit of water lately.

Congrats to you Valerie Elizabeth.  I too started on hormone therapy this week but I cannot report feeling anything different about how I feel.  Far too soon I guess as I am on a 3-monthly injection for Testosterone suppression and low dose oestrogen tablet daily with Aspirin to ward of clotting ( stroke history etc ), no drug names/dosages here because of a previous warning from a friendly moderator.

The only thing I can suggest could be different is waking up each morning without the usual need to lie there a while to decide when to get out of bed.  Not so tired either and possibly a sudden loss of interest in alcoholic beverages!!

congratulations Valerie!     I know you're excited about it. I won't start for a few days yet, but I swear I'm already feeling better! haha I think just knowing we are moving in the right direction must stimulate some feel-good chemicals in our brains or something

ps your name is very pretty

So, I just had a question.  It's now day 3 of the hormones, and my nipples are itchy.  They arent erect, or sore or anything.  They are just (both) itchy.  Normal?

Thanks again to everyone for the support.

Sounds normal to me, that's how it started IIRC. :)

I'll never forgot (unless I go senile) sitting in the Happy Harry's parking lot with a coca-cola and a filled spiro scrip.  Itchy nipples, hmm just make sure to give door frames a wider birth when they really start to come online.
