Iran has one of the most progressive regimes in the World in regards to Transexual issues. Imam Khomeini made special provisions for transexuals to be helped and protected even under Sharia Law.

Uh huh.  Hope you remember that attitude if you ever get picked up for something, even something you didn't do.  And comparing events in a supposedly developed Western nation with a repressive theocracy--you really want a race to the bottom, where any human rights violation can be justified by pointing at a worse human rights violation elsewhere?  And they haven't even been convicted yet--they're just under suspicion.  Maybe it'll turn out they're guilty, but what if they're completely innocent?

I never was picked up for obeying the law. I try not to even appear as if I am breaking the law. I also try to be stable enough to have bail if a mistake is made. Lawbreakers do not deserve special treatment.  It seems that human rights end when a person becomes inhuman. Only life or death situations are treated in many jails. Being arrested does not mean free medical care.

The moral of the story is do not even appear like you are doing something illegal. The system can and does take your rights away.

One of the questions I found in the article was "did she actually kill her boyfriend/husband?" Or was that simply the "theory" of the event that the local cops had decided on. It might have been nice to have included whether or not the police had evidence that showed her gunshot was self-inflicted or not. I mean, last I checked people are still being murdered for being transsexual, lovers of transsexuals and for being lesbian and/or gay, no?

She maintains her innocence, and how many normally do not, and she may well have killed him. But is that anywhere close to a certainty? I wasn't able to find from the article that it was.

You do realise that "walking whilst trans" is basically enough to get you picked up if the local cops are bigoted enough?  What if you were to get assaulted and defend yourself, and then later find yourself under investigation?  What if, as happened in this story (which I kind of suspect you haven't actually read properly), a loved one of yours is found murdered and you're picked up on suspicion of murder?  Of course the accused woman might be guilty of murder, but it hasn't been proven yet.

Ah, but you "keep stable" enough to be able to pay bail.  That's good.  The rest of us mere mortals know that we might lose our livelihoods somewhere down the line because of a tanking economy or through illness, accident, discrimination; we know that disability or mental health problems can strike anyone at any time, regardless of how "stable" they feel themselves to be.  You will also never grow old and find yourself on a reduced income thereby.  And even though bail for murder can run into millions, you know you'll have that kind of dosh lying around just in case.  That must be some special kind of career path right there.  You really should share your secret.

And this simple formula will not only prevent one from ever being falsely accused of a crime, but will ensure adequate bail money (even for big-ticket charges like murder, where you might need a few mill) by preventing you from ever being injured, ever becoming disabled, ever contracting a disease that prevented you from working, ever needing to retire, and ever suffering from a mental health problem?  You should submit your findings to The Lancet, you'd be a shoo-in for the Nobel Prize.

I think you do not read past the propaganda but than Spain is very controlling. It is a simple test to see if someone fired a gun. You do not get arrested and held in the U.S. without evidence. Giving false information to police is like perjury. Bail is set according to the crime and evidence. It seems these two are in for a rough ride and are a risk to run. Being stable means you have ties to the community and contribute to society. Being responsible requires character and evidence you care. Without it your life is not worth much and you are treated as such. I think you have not experienced jail or different cultures as I have had. You might think any behavior is OK as long as you are not caught. Yes Justice takes time and if they can prove they are falsely imprisoned they can get compensation. I doubt the police are going to risk that. I would suggest they cooperate and find themselves a good lawyer. Creating a problem in jail is only going to make life more difficult for them.

Prison is not a nice place no matter what gender you appear. Men are raped all the time. These two are in a separate cell.  If you can not do the time do not do the crime. It would also be a good idea not to have a relationship in your target gender till you have SRS. But then the risk you take is your own so do not expect sympathy when you disobey the law. Do you think the judicial system is designed to treat people with evidence of committing murder the same as the law abiding citizen? It is true that you are considered  innocent till proved guilty but that does not mean you have the same rights. You are a ward of the state and that has restrictions along with conditions that are not of your preferred desires.
