I've been full time for over a year, but I never came out to my dad's side of the family.  He passed away years ago and unfortunately my grandmother had dementia and constantly confused me for him.  So anytime she saw me she assumed I was him.  As I dealt with being trans I felt like I couldn't come out to that side of the family because in her confusion she would think HE was transsexual, and I don't think her heart could have bore that.   So they have yet to find out about my transition.

I tell you all that so you can understand what just happened... my Dad's sister called and I answered in my now normal voice (which is radically different than my old male voice).  I knew her voice in an instant.  But since a cell cannot be handed off to another person, I told her she dialed the wrong number.  She then called back and I answered in my male voice.  It's been so long since I've done the dual identity I forgot what this is like.

To those of you still having to do so on a daily basis, you have my sympathies... it's a lot of work keeping it all straight.   :D
