For us MTF's, one of the things that we sorely lack is an exercise plan.
Your body has been on the T for all of your life. As you begin HRT, the new hormones will begin to redistribute and add fat. For many of us this is important to help develop feminine traits. But the hormones don't quit! It will only worsen after GRS.
I've known many MTF's that gain significant weight after surgery. In my family, women are predisposed to carry more weight than typical females. And my body really wants to carry on that family tradition. We are spending thousands of dollars on therapy, medication, electrolosys, and surgeries. Why would we no make the investment in an exercise program? This is the hardest, because it doesn't cost money. It requires a comitment and a little time each day. We all know that exercise is important. But do you have a "program"? Do you have a "plan"?
I hate machines. And due to some physical problems I have, I can not participate in sports. I'm prety much limited to walking. Fortunately, I love to walk, and I love to walk in the area where I live. It is pretty and there isn't much traffic. The problem for me is that walking is a very slow way to get the heart rate up and maintained for a reasonable period. So I must walk for at least one hour each day to get the benefits of exercise. I do some simple stretching exercises before my walks which are important for many reasons.
So that's my program. Do I keep to it? Hah? You got me

I need to get back to it. With hot weather, I have to do it before the sun comes up. So I've been off it for a couple weeks cause I've been on a tight schedule and I've been working during those hours. I find that I do better when I keep a calendar with all the things that I should do for myself every day. And I check them off. This helps motivate me and keep myself honest.
So what is your exercise program? Are you keeping with it? If you are one of those that can do it every day, what do you do for motivation?
