Well I sceduled at Mr. Bellringers' hospital for SRS at 8 August,I feel some kind of relief but I also feel a little bit anxiety, I don't know why... Did you feel anxiety before SRS??? I think it's a natural feeling, especially in this surgery!!!  :D :o

You wouldn't be human if you didn't feel some anxiety. Yes it is a natural emotion.

Hope it all goes well!

Prior to SRS I was anxious, scared, excited, happy and in disbelief. These are all normal emotions prior to life changing surgery.

it may be the surgery you want the most above all others, even the thing you want most over all other things, but it's still "surgery", and as such you've every right (and reason) to be nervous.

hi!
my surgery will be at the end of november but I'm already scared and everything else too!

I think if someone takes that surgery too easy that isn't good neigther! I have great respect for that surgery but how I'll act 24h before my surgery I cant predict! I hope that I'll be turned off like before FFS, hours before i was taken down to the surgery I had a totally free mind, no thoughts .. nothing (ok my brain kept me breathing and living *G)
So i thing anxiety is a very natural reaction ;)

good luck!
yours kerstin

Hi, mine isn't until next year probably with Dr Thomas and I'm scared witless already, lol. I hope it goes well for you on the 8th.

So I am the odd one (as usual) as the only fear I had was that it WOULDN'T happen. I was 24 and had reached the end of my rope years earlier. In the months before SRS became possible, I was seriously suicidal and surgery was the only thing that was going to keep me alive. If it didn't happen, I wasn't going to need my return airline ticket. I didn't care if I died on the OR table - at least it would be over one way or the other.

That was over 35 years ago and the only thing I was I could change would be to do it even sooner (which was not possible).

I got a little nervous after checking into the hospital and then sitting and watching the clock countdown. It did help that the incompetent nurses lost my (and my friend's) luggage first because it took my mind off of things. Then there was hacking around their firewall which I actually did a better job on after surgery.

My friend clowned around and kept chatting with me and that helped a lot. However, I cannot say I was super duper nervous, just a little. I had to wait far too long for surgery and was looking forward to having it finally done.
