Luckily, I don't even understand how nipples can be sensitive, due to my experience with what is very much a lack of sensitivity in that area. In fact, the normal skin on my arm seems more sensitive than my nipples. For this, I am glad to say I probably won't notice not being able to feel much post-op, whenever I do decide to get a mastectomy. (Wish it could be sooner, but I'm not so lucky). It varies person to person, as it has already been said; those with more sensitivity prior to surgery may find they have more sensitivity post surgery than those who always had lesser sensitivity. Most likely because there are more nerve endings to begin with, and of that number there are more that survive. Not all of the time, but it would make logical sense. In my opinion, having a male chest greatly outweighs any sensitivity there. I associate having sensitive nipples to femininity and if they were suddenly very sensitive, I may be a little disturbed. I think I'm a little more straight-laced than I thought.
