Another question ;D  I was wondering if the FTM top surgery changes nipple sensitivity?  Guys do not seem to like anything to do with their nipples, yet females do.  So would the change make them less sensitive?

Im pre op but ive done research. It only says something about sensitivity loss for double incisions.

aren't double incensions only for big breasted people?

I had annoyingly sensitive nipples pre-op.

Post op I still have good sensation to both nipples but they're not overly sensitive.  I had a double incision with nipple grafts.

Well I don't have surgery but if the nipple comes off obviously you're going to have some nerve cutting. Most nerves can regenerate, so I'd assume there'd be some loss but it would depend on luck, circumstances and the person.

More like keyholes are for small breasted people. It seems most people have double incision but I could be wrong.

From what I've studied, to get a keyhole procedure you need really small breasts. Small B's the A's. Any average size B and up seem to have the double incision.
I may be off on those sizes. Just estimating.

I got some sensitivity on my nipples & around the scars but not as much as b4.  its comin back slowly though. Got a DI w/nipple grafts in 2007.

Some guys do like their nipples stimulated. I often think that gay men are more into nipples than straight men, but I don't know if that's accurate.

I had the pedicle technique because I was unwilling to risk any loss of sensation at all; I have never healed well, so a transplant did not appeal to me. My nipples are in great shape. They're on the large side for a guy and are a little too prominent, but I could have had them shaved down a bit more. And they feel great. Now all I need is someone to share them with...

I have noticed this too.

I'm not fussed about losing sensation because I don't have any to begin with :P it does make a lot of sense that slicin' em off and moving them around is gonna mess with nerve endings.

I've heard & read it can reduce sensitivity, but I'm O.K. with that. I don't like my nipples touched anyway. :P

As far as I know guys have sensetivity but just don't like it for some reason..In time like this I wonder howcome I know so little about male physiology.. O_o I didn't know how an actually penis looked like until I saw my boyfriend's and didn't realize people have adam's apples until about 6-12 months ago!!! O_o

I love mine being played with but the overall changing to male is worth MORE to me, having a cute girl play with a male, muscled, chest of mine will be a real treat even if I end up with less nipple feeling.

I had extremely sensitive nipples pre-op.  I have hardly any now, even though I had peri.  I miss it, though I was looking forward to them being a bit less sensitive.  The skin AROUND my nipples is still really sensitive, it's really awkward.

I would like to note that keyhole and peri are actually different procedures, and you have to be smaller to get keyhole than peri.

I had DI and there is some but I can't actually feel them, I am numb around some parts of my chest..

It can be really painful sometimes but.. meh!

I had a DI (Brownstein) and got sensation and feeling coming back already. Have a friend who had peri and has no sensation and its been several years. Sensation was important to me so I am happy!

Luckily, I don't even understand how nipples can be sensitive, due to my experience with what is very much a lack of sensitivity in that area.  In fact, the normal skin on my arm seems more sensitive than my nipples.  For this, I am glad to say I probably won't notice not being able to feel much post-op, whenever I do decide to get a mastectomy.  (Wish it could be sooner, but I'm not so lucky).  It varies person to person, as it has already been said; those with more sensitivity prior to surgery may find they have more sensitivity post surgery than those who always had lesser sensitivity.  Most likely because there are more nerve endings to begin with, and of that number there are more that survive.  Not all of the time, but it would make logical sense.  In my opinion, having a male chest greatly outweighs any sensitivity there.  I associate having sensitive nipples to femininity and if they were suddenly very sensitive, I may be a little disturbed.  I think I'm a little more straight-laced than I thought.

I think the nipples are like the clit im guessing. They are very sensitive to me but its not like its something that turns me on so whatever.

I think nipple sensitivity is definitely a person to person thing. I do not let anyone touch me below the waist so that does not leave much . So I count on my chest for that. Some guys like thier chest touched some don't, very interesting thing.
Good thing is it can work out for everyone in the end and that is cool.

Myles
