Long time reader, first time poster.
I'm a 27-year-old MTF from Utah, who is still early on in her transition. I have a very sweet girlfriend, who I've lived with for four years, and who I came out to about a year ago. She's been extremely supportive, and proudly calls me her girlfriend when talking to people who know.
I always felt out of place as a boy, but until last year, I always assumed that doing something about it was just a fantasy. After crazy amounts of research, I started laser hair removal on my face in January, therapy in March, and hormones in July. I've come out to a lot of my close friends, and I feel lucky to have so many open and accepting people around me. In the last two weeks, I've also told my sister and mom, and I'm excited to stop hiding.
I'm a huge nerd, and spend a lot of time playing video games with my girlfriend, my favorite colors are blue and pink, and I love music!
Right now I'm focusing on my appearance, telling more friends, and procrastinating working on my voice. I'm also having a really hard time picking a name, mostly because I'm kinda fond of my male name, and I want to find something that I'll like even better. "Yoru" will do for now - it's the Japanese word for "night," and I am definitely a night-owl.
One thing that I really feel would be helpful right now is having some trans friends. I really have no trans friends, or even trans people that I talk to, so... be my buddy!
