Since four days ago I've moved with my family in Lisbon.  I will be returning to Argentina (my home country) in about five years after I complete my GRS.  I cant transition legally in Argentina and that's been one of the reasons why I moved here.  Plan to go to Thailand for my GRS but have to get acquainted with my new home country for now.

I started playing for a Ladies football team last night (Soccer to the un-enlightened)

It was fun, especially getting changed with all the girls before hand and we won 6-0

;D

Hi Pia I do pray everything goes well for you. I moved more times in my life then I can remember. I enjoyed it and I don't regret all the traveling I did  but now that I am getting up in years my only desire is that my new home here in BC will be a permanent one. It is certainly a beautiful place, mild winters with the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other.
I also wish you happy wonderful holidays.

Chris, good going on the license.  I've often thought about driving as a career.  I love driving through the deserts at night time.  I've done it so many times.  I used to carry a radio and talk to the truckers all night long.  I used to drive a sweet little suped Grand Am.  I had a tiger tail that I'd hang out of the trunk on those trips.  The truckers turned out to be a swell bunch of people.  We'd meet up at the stops and every once in a while, one would buy a meal for the "traveling lady".

Pia, I know how it feels to have to leave your home to pursue transition.  It's a tough road.  I'm glad that you have the wherewithal to make it happen.

BCL, football?  Good for you.  I despise watching any sport.  It's much more fun to participate.

Cindy, your new avatar is lovely.

I've been working on the observatory for the past few weeks.  I used to have to open it manually.  Now it has a drive system!  Yay!  Just in time for snow this weekend. ;)  I have some maintenance to do on the telescopes but it's all coming along very nicely.

I've signed up to receive notices from the AU for gamma ray bursts.  Only a few have ever been imaged and I'm anxious to get started in doing this valuable research.  I'll add this to the list of supernovae surveys and discovery confirmations for other observatories.  It sure would be nice to get paid for all this research and hard work.  But you know what?  No one can fire me!  And that is very nice my friends.

Hi Cindi
Nice to see you again. Would you know if there is a way one can post articles or posts separately instead of all together. I think I'm clogging up the system. That is in the Science thread.  Got a lot of neat stuff there that could keep a few peoples science oriented minds busy for a while.

Its been marvelous to see my mum again.  Im quite happy with the idea of spending Christmas at home reunited with my family.

Butterfly, that's wonderful.  I know that it can be difficult to repair family connections after all of this crap that we have to deal with.  But it is well worth the effort.

I had lunch with my eldest daughter today. She had recently found out from her mother that when I first came to this country I lived for 6 months in the street. So she doesn't want a Christmass present, instead she asked me to give the money I would have spend to the Simon Community (an organisation that helps homeless people). I am so proud of her!

Woo hoo! I had my blood tested this week, and my doc just called me to tell me that for the first time since starting HRT 15 months ago, my super-high White Blood Cell count actually went DOWN! It had been twice normal values (not good!) since starting and going up steadily, and now it's dropped to almost within normalcy again.

That is SUCH a huuuuuge relief for me. It's been nagging at me all this time, scaring me that I couldn't tolerate HRT (or was terribly sick), and stopping HRT... is just not an option.

For what it's worth to anyone, it SEEMS to have been the dutasteride causing me problems. Why my body doesn't like it, I don't know. The doc had me cut back on everything ELSE at one point, to no effect. But I stopped the dutasteride, and presto... the count dropped. So I'm done with it. Back to Propecia for me ;)

Oh wow! And NOW I just got an email saying that my hair transplant on the 27th is confirmed. Can I do a snoopy dance now? ;)

Great news, Kate!

And do let us know how the transplant goes.  Some of us are more than a little interested!

I keep on swimming well. Last night the strongest I have swam for years thanks to me not fighting myself and I feel I am still getting stronger.

I guess I'm an auntie "again".  My brother's baby was born one day ago (overseas) but we just found out today.  He was not due until the end of December so it has been an unexpected, though, very nice surprise for all of us.  It's a boy, his name is Zack and it is the first baby that will make the continuation of the family name, so he's special!  ;D

Hi Tink, congratulations  on the new nephew. Well I do hope that the family genetics to continue the family line goes for daughters as well, I have two daughters there are no males left in my family line. According to North American Natives traditions, family tree or the blood line is carried by the Female. So I guess the family name is ((POOF!))

I'm in a very optimistic mood today.  I dont' know what it is. But the sun is shining, I get to play music tonight, and my fire place is warm.  What could be better than all that?

Amazingly, I feel the same for some strange reason! Perhaps a revelation has been made  ;)
