I went grocery shopping with one of my aunts the other day and when we had all of our items checked out the woman working at the register says to us "You ladies have a good day".  This happens to me all of the time but NOW I have a witness!! *giggles* Now maybe I can get my mom to believe that YES people do see me as a woman.

I told my best friend (via a couple emails since he lives 1500 miles away) about my plans to transition. Even though we have lived many miles apart since our early teens we were best "men" at each others weddings. He's a bit conservative and drives a pick up truck. A real man's man - if you know what I mean. I was terribly worried about how he would take the news. No need to worry. I cried over and over  again as I read and reread his response. Full of understanding, acceptance and love for me and my family. He tells me his wife says its okay if he has a new girlfriend!!! The tears are flowing again as I think about my best friend and his kindness.

Posted on: August 12, 2008, 09:45:18 PMToday I went for my four laser session, and I went as me.  No boy mode.  I hadn't shaved because she needs to see what is happening.  When I got there the receptionist , Tracy, said 'Well look at you" and she was smiling.  Well I got there early and while waiting for Anderea, my laser tech I stepped outside to have a final cigarette.  She came walking across the parking lot and saw me.  She shout out 'Hey there ,Girl' and when she came up to me she said ' I knew it was you'.  Please keep in mind that they have never seen me 'en Femme'.  Both of them were pleased to see me and I was happy to be me.

After my session, Anderea said 'Sit there, I want to work my magic'. She returned with her makeup palette and gave me a make over.  Now I had not shave at all, but damn I looked good.  I even when out to go grocery shopping after.  I have had a great day.

After 2 grandsons, finally a granddaughter.  She was born this morning at 7:40, 9lb 13oz (that's not a typo 9lb 13oz).  Son, daughter-in-law and baby all doing fine.

I decided to hook up some of my old recording equipment and record my voice to see how I sounded for the first time since I've started practicing....  Best idea ever!  Talk about a major confidence boost!  I had no idea how good I sounded after only a month or so of practice.  My voice right now is somewhere in between androgynous and feminine.  And I thought I sounded like the stereotypical gay guy...

I am splitting a CSA box with my ex-girlfriend.  I picked it up and drove over to her house and we had a nice chat and a beer together.  I put some plants to rights in her pond.  We've been split up for years, but are still friends.  I'm glad she's in my life.

After a 7 night stay I am out of hospital and on the way to recovery. I met so very nice people while in hospital and will try and keep in touch with them.
