I'm a little late on this one, but what the heck;

Yesterday morning I got ma'am'ed 3 different times:

Once in the chow hall getting my omelette and sausage patty ($1.85), twice in the Base Exchange while looking for/purchasing a few doo-dads for a video project.

It's significant 'cause it's a small base, and I should've seen everyone here by now...

Yesterday I went out to lunch with my best friend at work and she ended up buying.

Today my expensive cello developed a big crack right down the middle of it's top.  Very bad.

But on the good... I still have my other cello. We had rehersal tonight which was invigorating. Our little group is getting pretty good.

Oh that explains it!  I was wondering where you were. :)
I'd love to see and hear you play one of these years, without the veil, please! ;) :D

Have a nice evening, Cindi!

Let's see.  I paid for my Playstation 2 and DDR stuff that I won on eBay, so that should ship soon.  I ordered my halloween costume.  I told my best friend about myself and she was totally cool with it.  I also found out nobody had said anything to her at work. :)  I also just ate some chocolate made in Switzerland.

I have a cat. That's pretty darn wonderful if you ask me.

Wow.  That's terrific!  I'm sure that you are very proud.  And you should be.

Hubby is driving all the way home (400 miles round trip) just to take me to dinner tonight.  Now that is devotion!

I got a letter today from a puzzle contest I entered into a couple months ago with Reader's Digest that I am 1 of about 300 finalists for a $10,000 prize.  All I need to do is write the best riddle, win, then I can afford surgery.  I have good language skills, logic, and I love riddles.  I think I can do this. :)

Why do I usually misunderstand "things"?  it must be because of this "language barrier"....uh huh...!!!  whatever! ::) ::) ::)....anyway.....sometimes.......when you lose, you win!!! ;D

I found an hour and a half of free time by remembering that phone banking exists so I didn't have to go into town!

Yes I know so does online banking!

:D

Two really good things have happended to me today so far:

First, I got my first ever pair of contact lenses. I've worn glasses since I was about 7, and its been a very long time since I was able to see my face in the mirror clearly without having glasses in the way. Its kind of surreal, I keep going to adjust them and almost poking myself in the eye before I remember they aren't there any more. And I think my face looks so much more feminine without them   :D

And second, while I was waiting at the optometrist for my appointment, I got a phone call from a company I had an interview with last week, letting me know that they've decided to hire me! I've been living on student benefits alone since February, and it's been almost impossible to pay for rent and food as well as afford all the things I need to do to transition. Now I'll FINALLY be able to start on hair removal. And buy some nice new shoes.  ;D

My good friend Gerard called yesterday to apologize for a misunderstanding we had at work a few weeks ago.  Apparently he was feeling terrible for the things he said to me, so we talked and I felt great afterwards.  I just hope that he will be able to overcome the sour experience of his divorce in the near future.

I received some wonderful birthday wishes from dear friends.

I watched a couple of videos and pigged out on popcorn. That bottle of champaign in the fridge, the one that's been there for a couple of years, is still there. ;)

I'm getting full credit for my broken cello at the place where I bought it!  I like that company.

I've stayed up all night in party mode... even though it's just been me and my doggie.  But she's been pretty good company.  She chased the deer off when we went out to look at the autumn constellations tonight. Later she chased off a pair of coyotes.  She enjoyed that.  I smiled as I heard her doing "her" job.  I did my specialized call that set off the neighbor's Mastiv dog at 2 AM.  That turned on all the coyotes in the valley followed by a couple other dogs.  They were all singing just for me. For a full mile in every direction the chorus cracks the night. I love doing that ;) (and I must confess that I do it every night)  My dog is quiet in the cacauphony.  I think of her smiling in the dark thinking "Yea, mama, she da queen!".

I'm going to sleep late and do nothing for the rest of the day!

It's a great day to be alive! Life is GOOD!

May this be the longest running topic ever.

Yesterday two of my grandchildren came to visit with their dad.  While they were here it snowed and accumulated (about an inch) for the first time this year.  When it came time for the kids to leave my 4 year old granddaughter stepped outside and, marvelling at the snow and the beauty of it, laughed with such a joyous delight that I felt young again.

A truly wonderful evening!

Smiles & delighted laughter!  :D

There is nothing like a young child to awaken the most amazing feelings within us.  How wonderful Helen.  Indeed, this was a good day.
