Hi,

   I've been living with my ex, who has gotten over the worst of my trans news, and has come to accept me.

   Downside = EX
   Wonderful = Friends forever.

Love,

Becky

A beautiful sunny snowshoe along the lakeshore...windchill actually in the double digits! Then this evening got news that a friend of the family, one of the most amazing people you could ever meet, who has been at Mayo for months and had a horrible prognosis...just tested as cancer free! Miracles do happen.

Somebody gets to be 10,000 today...big responsibility!

Simple things on a quiet Sunday: A nice cup of coffee this morning, a gracious, kind and unexpected compliment from a forum member, olive bread and chorizo, an afternoon nap, paying off my overdraft by internet banking...

My computer chair broke yesterday (the wood in the back got too weak).  I went and got a new chair at the store which is pretty good.  The wonderful thing is I discovered the casters to my old chair fit on my dining room chairs and I had NOT been able to find any casters that fit them after the first ones broke before.  I had gone to a number of stores and finally had something that kind of worked, but now these are a perfect fit.  I'll save the other wheels in case more casters break.

I've just had a 36 hour run of enthusiasm for work!  I'm on a roll and having great fun.  I'm looking forward to the rest of the week.  I've got some wonderful things to make.

I met Frank for coffee tonight after my workout at the gym.  I didn't think it would be anything special other than to sit and chat.  We got our coffee and I included chilli with my order and we sat.  After a few minutes I just had to ask him "So, are you still ok with me?"  to which he replied "Do you have confidence in yourself", and I said yes of course and he simply replied "Then you have to have confidence in me".

I had a 20 minute phone conversation with my father this morning.

I am just so happy that he is speaking to me again.

Okay, I'm ripping this idea for a topic from somewhere else... so Melissa, don't sell me out. ;)

We deal with many sad things here.  And everything is always so dead serious.  I'd like to add a bit of brevity if I may.

Why don't you, gentle reader, think of something wonderful that has happened to you today (or yesterday) that is wonderful and share it with us?  Cheer us up a bit if you will.

C'mon, join in and make some fun.  We're in the general discussions so you can talk about anything!

Cindi

Now that's agreat idea! Always looking on the bright side of life is the best survival tool the human mind ever created. Just look at Jewish or Irish Humour...

Anyway, yesterday I had my yearly work review with my boss and he just kept praising me and the high standard of my work and results. He was also saying how he appreciates the way I am always ready to step-in and deal with difficult situations that everyone else runs away from. He was also aware that very often people with call and ask to deal with me instead of with whoever is on public duty that day. He also said that all my co-workers really appreciate my willingness to share with them any information, insight or knowledge that will help them.  Finally he asked me if I was OK with him putting my name forward for a management training course and promotion! I was really embarassed, but chuffed too of course. And then when I came home I got a call from my son in England saying he was coming home for a few days.

Life is great.:icon_joy:

I pick up the phone, knowing it's the doctor calling about my wife...

"Hello doctor, thank you for calling so soon, how are you today?"

"Is this [insert wife's name]?"

Giggle. "Uhm, no, I'm her husband."

"Oh! Sorry..."

Yes! That just may be my first phone passing ;)

I know, I know, she was expecting to get my wife, so it's a bit unfair. STILL, I didn't contradict that expectation at least!
