So I have fibromyalgia. It's not a "disease" so much as a collection of symptoms, and I have 'em.
One of the big parts of the symptom pile is chronic fatigue.
Mine's been bad lately.
I'm so exhausted that I feel like I'm gonna collapse.

AND I CAN'T SLEEP!

It's three o'clock in the bleeping morning and I can't sleep.

I'm pissed off.
yeah I'm pissed off

There's nothing else to feel.
my whole body feels both numb, cold and sore all over, cause I'm so bleeding tired.. and I can't sleep!

I'm not thinking about anything. It's not worries or thoughts keeping me up.
I'm perfectly relaxed.
I'm unable to get comfortable however, and even if I curl up and just breathe for an hour.. I'm still awake

So I climb out of bed, come out here, and rant.
RANT RANT RANT RANT RANT!
Then I'm gonna eat weak painkillers that do nothing to help because that's all I got and go back to bed and curl up next to the peacefully snoozing husband and maybe, just maybe,... oh who am I kidding?
I'll lay there for a couple of hours untill I pass out from sheer boredom.

(You guys have no idea how much restraint it's taken to edit out... I think... all the swearwords... cause I could so stomp around and say nothing but 'em at this point)

Hey Brother.  I understand your whole point without the expletives.  ;D  My ex suffers from fibro and I have been there when she was up at 2:30 in the morning cleaning house.

To this day she still self-medicates with alcohol and still does not sleep.  The alcohol was part of what caused us to split, besides my GID.

I have no words of wisdom, but I have Big Hugs for a suffer of Fibro.  I totally understand evrything that you suffer with.

Honestly, if there was any around, I'd take it at this moment without hesitation. Alcohol that is. I'd drink 'till I'd pass out.
Anything but being up at now 3:40 am, in overwhelming pain, with no foreseeable end to it.

I know it is tough to be in pain 24/7.  I have back pain that does not quit.  So I total understand.  Try a trick my ex use to use.  Soak in a very hot bath for as long as you can.  Replenish the water as needed.  She did this when she was low on the booze.  I only wish she could eliminate the alcohol.  It is only a short term solutions, with long term side effects..

Are you taking anything for it?

*hugs*

I HATE the pain that (is) having a bad habit of keeping me up until 3 to 4 in the morning, hopefully I can whap my doctor over the head with the info and get another fill on vicodin, otherwise it's sleepless nights and bad mood mornings for me...  >:(

Tried all the meds available, nothing helps but painkillers, and because I DO NOT enjoy talking to doctors, I tend to allow myself to run out of painkillers (the proper kind) and then I get into this situation where I'm in a lot of pain and have no means of handling it what so ever.

I can't soak in the tub as I'm 6'2 and it's built to fit a 5' person tops. Shower's not a possibility either as I can't remain vertical for more than a minute or two at a time at this point.

I'm getting to that level of pain where I feel I might vomit cause of it.

it's days like these I wonder why I bother continuing to deal with this body at all.
There's limits you know!

Yes I do, Dear One.  But you have dealt with this crap for a long time.  You will eventually pass out so I hope.  Or tomorrow get a refill on your scripts ether at the Drug store, or whatever they call it in Iceland, or at the store where they sell alcohol.  But I hate to see another begin to rely on alcohol or anything, but I understand why.  I have often thought of using alcohol myself, but I over indulge.  :icon_drunk: :icon_drunk: :icon_drunk: :icon_drunk:

I stumbled off to bed after that last post and just "quit life" for a couple of hours and eventually nodded off at what I presume would have been somewhere between 5 and 6 in the morning.

Alcohol is insanely expensive over here. A bottle of wine starts at 16 dollars for the cheapest stuff. And spirits are taxed higher.
A 500 ml (approx a pint) flask of vodka is from 28$ to 40$.

I'll phone my arthritic specialist when his phone hour (30 minutes long) is open (if I can get through) and pester him for a big prescription of parkodine forte... if I can't get him to prescribe something stronger...

Have you tried mint leaves or lavender? I have never personally experienced their effects but, they are supposed to help with insomnia.
I hope this helps in some way and I hope you can find some rest,

I have been using GABA recently.  It is a supplement and it is suppose to help not only with sleep, but with fibro.  And it help the brain begin making HGH which will help with the boobage growth.

So far so good with the sleep.

Googling the heck out of that now... and coming up with a O.o?! sort of reaction to it...
Pity it doesn't appear to be sold Anywhere in Iceland!
Which means, I'll have to wait until I'm on vacation in Canada to get it and then (possibly) smuggle it back here (cause I can not find any information as to whether it's legal or not over here... so I presume it is.. cause there doesn't appear to be any "ban" on it.. )

Yay! that it helps you though.. ;) Just hope it'll help me too.

God, that is insanely expensive.
The price has dropped a bit again... but not all that much actually...
It's still insanely expensive...

Yeah, that's high, I can get local varietals (Cab, Chard, Piniot, Zins) for $3-6 for pretty good wine, $10ish for something very good, and by $16-25 its amazing gold medal winning stuff.  Of course, even then you can go to the winery, they have even better deals, and then you get 15% off the total price if you buy a case (and at that the cases tend to be mix and match, so you don't have to by 12 bottles of the same stuff).  One of the big locals is a major sponsor a place where I work and I show them my employee badge and pow! that's 25% off the already low sale/site price.

Vodka is like $3 a pint for the Royal Gate (its comes in a drunk friendly shatter proof plastic bottle) to like around $28 for a fifth (750ml) of Grey Goose or Finlandia.
