a tech kind of question

Does anyone know of a free downloadable patch type of thingy for a graphic equalizer? I have been looking around the net for something like this but I haven't found one yet. anyone that could help would be all cool and stuff.

for all around use, you'll have to dig in the settings for your (onboard) sound chip or card (will be a tray icon or in control panel)
