semantics fairygirl. If I defined magic the way you do, I would believe in it too. but I think of all that as the result of evolution, the wonders of science, the nature of human thought/the way we want to see beauty because it makes life worth living, not magic. but I don't disagree with your general message
as for karma, if your nice to people, they are more likely to return the favor, and in that sense, good things happen to good people, but that just covers human action, and what matters is not whether your a good person, but whether the people around you think your a good person, and whether they are also good people who think that good people deserve good things. but when it comes to cancer, accidents, etc, your character has nothing to do with it. If defined in a certain way, I would agree that "karma" exists, but it's not some divine semiconscious force that tries to balance everything out. It's just the logical result of being "good," of making people happy, of staying out of trouble/not doing dangerous/"bad" things, drugs maybe, etc etc.
