I identify as genderqueer-- all in all, my gender is pretty fluid. Physically, though, I come across as pretty feminine. For the most part, I'm pretty comfortable with my body, but more and more, I listen hear my own (rather feminine) voice and feel like it's some one else's instead of mine.
So here's the thing-- I know testosterone lowers voices and that the changes are permanent even after stopping. I have heard of female-bodied genderqueer/androgynous people using testosterone temporarily for changes in voice and whatnot, but there seem to be very limited sources of information about such things. Most of the places I've found seem to refer to lifelong use of testosterone, which I'm pretty definite I don't want.
I don't honestly know if I might want to use testosterone, but it's definitely caught my interest enough to want to find out more. Does anyone know any information relating to this that might be useful to me?
