Seeking some binder advice.

Hello everyone.
I have been binding for about three months now. I have the Underworks Double Front and the Tri Top. I bought them both in extra small, which wasn't my recommended size but I can squeeze into them from the bottom up and they do a pretty good job. However partially I think because I got them so small, and partially because its the nature of binding, I get a sizeable squish of flesh around my armpits, both at the front and at the back. This is OK most of the time but when its warm I'd really like to wear something sleeveless. I think it is because of the strappy shape of the binder and I was wondering if the The Cotton Concealer Compression Muscle Shirt might solve this problem, as it seems less like it has straps and is more like a t shirt without the sleeves, basically just encircling where your arms need to come out...So if anyone has any experience with this binder - or maybe just any tips on dealing with the armpit squish factor it would be great to hear it!!

My experience was that the cotton concealer muscle shirt didn't work very well.  Not enough compression.  Mind you, I have a pretty big chest.  Unfortunately, I have no suggestions for you as far as how to control the bits squishing out the armpits.  I have that trouble, too.  :-\  I think it's just the nature of the beast.  All that flesh has to go somewhere.  Now, I have heard of people folding them downwards, instead of off to the side.  Mine are too fibrous for that, but you can give it a try.

I have that problem. I prefer to shove my tumors up and to the side, creating even more armpit fat. Because of this, I don't wear sleeveless shirts either. I don't know what to tell you really...maybe wear a normal compression shirt over your binder, like underarmor or something. They come in sleeveless shirts, and that would compress the armpit fat and make it so you could wear sleeveless shirts.

The Cotton Concealer is fine and doesn't by itself create armpit fat, but it doesn't compress much either. If you have anything more than a fairly compressible A cup, you probably won't get enough compression out of it alone.

I wear it over a tight sports bra, and worn like that it evens out the lines and creates a fairly smooth look around the arms - but I still wouldn't wear anything sleeveless.

Oh, if you can manage to put your binders on like a shirt, the armpit squish is reduced because it pushes everything down as you put it on instead of up. Whether or not the resulting shape is acceptable may vary (it's not for me, I have to readjust myself and thus create the armpit squish again)

Thanks everyone. I kind of figured there's no easy solution... the stuff has to pop up somewhere I guess.
I've been looking for an over the top compression shirt but nothing really seems right. Maybe they don't have them here in NZ? Guess I'll stick to t shirts. :-\

Kyril. Does the cotton concealer at least make it so you don't need a bra? I'm looking for something that won't damage my breast tissue/will provide support without making my breast look any larger.

It depends. I need a bra under it because I'm medium-large and rather...um...saggy, I guess. But if you're smaller and/or perkier, you wouldn't need one. Just make sure you order it a size too small or it won't really support you.

I found that to be true too.
