Funding For Operation?

Alright. So I just found out that surgery (Trachea shave, facial fem., and sex change) is going to set me back about forty grand.
Problem: My monthly income is about 500 dollars. Living with the family so that is all saving money.
Good news: Might be able to start waiting!
Bad news: Still would take me a while to save up the money!

So this leads me to a question. When my mother had surgery to fix her aquilies tendon she was offered grants. Is there a source of funding that can lesson the cost of such surgeries?

If you find a way to fund everything. please post it.  There are many here who do not have the credit to fund operations.  And some are poor enough that saving is not an option.

well, if I ever win the lottery or strike it rich somehow, I promise to put up a non-profit foundation with the sole purpose of raising money for the less well off in our community. I have spent the majority of my life highly concerned about the cost of things like food and shelter, and I know that many others are in that same boat.

I'm looking to get a medical loan to cover the remainder of my procedure, and what not, as well as my superannuation too. All in all I should have around about $18,000 AUD for my OP next year, to cover flights, hospital, operation and any unforeseen circumstances. Always good to be prepared.

Someone had suggested to me to use some of my student loans to pay for the expenses of my "transformation". Hmmm...and another hmmm on that one.

You can try for student "medical" or "medically necicary" loans to pay for the GRS part. the rest is considered cosmetic no matter what you do.

I've heard of the Jim Collins Foundation before. It clearly isn't applicable to be as I live in the UK.

But I am curious, if anyone has any experience of it, either as a benificiary or a unsuccessful applicant?

I waited 20 years. I figured that I would never make it...
Then...
May duaghter crashed one of my cars. She wasnt hurt thank god, but... Due to a mix up at the insurance office, they had the car insured for $15,000.
Not bad for a $600 car.
So surgery was on my daughter
