Nostril Piercing, masculine or feminine?

I always thought of septum piercings as a bull thing when i was little to, now i just like them and how they look.

Uh, I don't think I look like a bull either. And it gets old hearing that over and over.  It's usually young kids who say that or old people >.>

On another note, do you guys think stretched ears are more masculine or feminine? I often see girls with the smaller stretches and guys with larger. Although I have seen some guys with smaller stretches and girls with large stretches. /shrug

I'm at 3/4" right now, it's a pretty good size I think and I'm still able to find a decent amount of jewelry for that size.

I have a septum as well.  I don't think it looks very masculine or feminine... then again, it just seems like a part of my face to me now.  I don't think I look like a bull either, but I am wearing quite "un-bull-like" jewelry.  (A CBR with no ball)

As for nostril piercings, I know of plenty of guys who have them.  However, they do feminize your face.  You'll have to decide which is more important: piercing or absolute pass?

Septum piercings can be masculine especially if they are stretched but in my opinion nostril piercings are too feminine and will affect passing.

I don't really think any sort of piercing is exceptionally "masculine" or "feminine." If you want your nose pierced and think it will look good on you then go ahead and get it (professional piercer, not a mall kiosk type thing).

I used to want a lip piercing then I put a CBR on my lip so it looked like a piercing and realized it wasn't for me. I'm just going to stick with my 00g ears.

if you guys want to pass as guys and just blend into the male poplulation you need to leave the face jewellery to girls and punkrockers...at my gender clinic open meeting the FtMs were indistinguishable from the clinic staff with plain faces and male clothes.
spend the jewellery money on male clothes and aftershave.

Honestly, I don't get what the big deal about piercing is but you know, there are pretty regular guys out there with piercings so it's not a definite "out" or anything.

Some people just don't get the whole body modification scene. I just think, how can you not like piercings, tats, and body mods? Yet I don't get the whole wanting to blend in and be a clean cut Abercrombie&Fitch clone thing either.

If I had to downsize my ears and take out my jewelry it would be like getting rid of part of who I am. It has just become a part of my identity. That and I really just like how it looks 😉 I would be so miserable with no mods/tats/piercings and put in a pair of khakis and a polo. I kind of want to throw up thinking about that...

I never put in my opinion about a nose piercing. One nostril piercing is seen as usually feminine. A double nostril, like one on each side is neutral depending on the jewelry. Septum is neutral. Stretched septum is more masculine. And a bridge piercing is usually more masculine.

I understand tattooing and some other forms. Just not piercing, seems rather painful and doesn't look very attractive to me. I'm not trying to be a clone, I'm just not trying to be original, because a lot of those "originals" are pretty similar so it seems counterproductive. I'll just set my mind to more important matters in life.

Just comes down to personal aesthetic preferences I guess as to whether or not one "gets" body modification. I'm pretty sure we're all dissatisfied with ourselves enough that offered the ability to change anything we wanted, everyone would take that chance.

I feel the same way, my mods are part of me, i'd have more if I wasn't so desperate for a job. Maybe i'm weird but I like it and it's not hurting anyone else so I don't care.  🙂

Actually getting tattooed hurts a hell of a lot more than getting a piercing. You are being stabbed over and over with a bunch of little needles for an hour or more when you're getting a tat. You are stabbed one time for a split second for a piercing.

I'm not trying to be "original" either. I get body mods that I like and that make me happy. I don't get them for other people either. I couldn't care less if someone thought my piercings were ugly. Even if my boyfriend hated it, I'd tell him to suck it.

I just think trying to blend in with everyone else makes you (not you personally) like a clone. How boring!

If you think body modification is an unimportant matter in life, why even post in the thread. That statement was kind of rude. Some of my friends are tattoo artists and body piercers. They take their work seriously and consider themselves artists.

You see, we keep hitting against this same old thing.  Do we want to pass as men at all costs, or do we want to look like what we want to look like?  Personally, I would feel trapped if I were obliged to "blend in with the male population" and wear trainers and a t-shirt.  I would be pretending to be what I am not, yet again.

So, I think that nostril piercings tend to be worn by women but, if you like the look of it and are prepared for the fallout, go for it!  I have one from years back and I have yet to feel the need to get rid of it.

And I have to differ with Shade.  Tattoos are just vaguely irritating when they are being done.  But piercing a nose?  Yaaarrggh!  Makes your eyes water.

It just depends what area of the body you're getting work done on really. Big difference between your arm and your rib cage haha. The needle buzzing against your bones aaaahhhhhhgggg.

When I got my septum done my eyes didn't water at all and it didn't hurt one bit o.O. I had my nostrils done at one point, those made my eyes water though.

Yeah, yeah Shade.  True.  My most painful tattoo so far was on my lower abdomen.  After an hour of that, I had had enough.  I am really not sure I would want to be tattoed directly over bone.  Eurrrrhhhh.

Yikes, did they not go through your sweet spot? If they go through your cartilage by mistake, yea I heard that is stupid painful lol. Or on a scale of 1-10 an 11. -.-
