Why are big decisions so much easier than small ones?

Why are big decisions so much easier than small ones? Why am I having a much more difficult time deciding on a pair of glasses than I did deciding to transition? Big decisions are always obvious and I weigh them so much less than small ones. And small decisions always seem to have drastic consequences. It's like the world will come to an end if I don't get the right size pants.
Big decisions always have a clear winner. Small decisions are impossible.
Or maybe I just hate shopping.

because you think of the big decisions in your head, consciously and unconsciously over a long period of time. The small ones usually require a more immediate decision. I have trouble with the minor ones as well especially if all the choices are attractive.
Yes there is really bigender people

It sounds like you do not have your priorities in order.

I had a friend who was in the army... they had him doing a job way out of his pay grade... He found he enjoyed this job, and that it was not as difficult as he though. Eventually his replacement arrived and he was sent to work his own pay grade of the same field... the job was not as important but was 100x harder.... Both were the same job, just one large overwhelming scale where all the answers were obvious and one small scale where the devil likes to hide in the details...

Because, if you're like me, you are mulling over the decision long before you have to make it. Because people give you more time to come to big decisions a lot of the time. I can never decide on small matters, they're usually not interesting enough for me to mentally prepare a decision.

Huh...I'm the complete opposite.  I mull over big decisions for MONTHS (or...er...even years, if you want to take career/schooling into account...), often sabotaging myself by taking so long. I get so wrapped up in all the little details of the big decisions that they almost never get made. I suppose I'm just afraid of change. (I know, I know...go ahead and laugh  :icon_weee:)

Small decisions though...I'm good at those. I don't always make the right choice, but I get it done guilt free.

Maybe we should team up? lol!

At any rate, I agree completely....shopping sucks.
