surgeon doing first sexchange I saw on telly used the whole tip of the penis to make a big prominent clitoris with no attempt at labia or hiding it.

Is requesting a big one a male idea same as guys looking at studs and thinking the wished they had monsters penis?

Or is it that they equate a big prominent clitoris with easy stimulation and easy orgasms and post-op sex performance must be perfect?

Originally I effectively had a HUGE one, and as lilac says it wasn't hooded. In fact it may even have been my surgeon she saw on TV as he was one of the very early UK pioneers.

After my revision I now have a nice hood, some small labia minora and a TINY clit. Honestly, if you don't know where to look you can blink and miss it! But never make the mistake of assuming that because it looks small it can't do the job! Oh no...

For me small is actually so much better - a bit like the difference between eating a cherry tomato and a big one. I reckon they pack the same amount of flavour but in the cherry it is so much more concentrated.

I think my surgeon was thinking about sexual arousal in a male way when he was concerned that I might lose some sensation. He did warn me that one possible side effect was to reduce the pleasure during sex. Far from it I assure you. If anything I find it better now because a.) I can feel more from everywhere else without the clit being so dominant, and b.) when it does get "found" the results are electric.

Plus everything now looks much prettier down there.

So for my two cents I say definitely go small and neat.

Hi Jenny..  no it was that Miss Evans cutting the meat - it was a bit like a butchers stall as there were lots of people leaning over for a close look and I seem to remember neither she nor they had face masks on.   Shame the BBC says it is no longer available.

Ah yes the redoubtable Christine - yeah I knew her too! She was a real character. Are you sure that wasn't "A Girl in a Million" made by TSW and shown on ITV. I'm pretty sure it was. In which case the patient was Caroline Munroe She used to be a local radio presenter on Devonair and then later on Palm. I once worked with her step daughter, confusingly also called Caroline!

By chance I used to be head of technical services at both the BBC archive and later at the TSW archive. Either way I have in fact seen that very tape, it was a Quadruplex recording I think and I am pretty sure that when we digitised them it was done.

As I was in charge of the restoration and preservation techs I know where most of the bodies are burried so I can usually find things that they don't admit to having. I'll make some enquiries for you... so feel free to PM me if you want to continue this.

Mine was for both esthetic and additional sensation.  Right now my labia minora a sewn together in front sits a large blood clot which will fall off over time, in behind sits my clitoris.  Once the clitoris is revealed it will, overtime, begin to contract.  As far as I can tell right now, I am fully sensate.  I can at times feel it behind there--it feels the same way as the head of my penis felt when erect.  I can especially feel it becoming aroused when I dilate.

well hon you've seen mine so you know what Dr. McGinn will be giving you too! She told me she gave me a large one but it seems perfect size to me, and it hides nicely behind its little hood unless I spread my legs or lips. There's more beneath the skin than there is exposed, and that is where to me the best sensation lies.

Awesome site Jessica, I took a look. I was really not sure of the aesthetics of mine. I had asked the surgeon to make it as close to female as possible. Upon looking at some of those pics on this site, OMG I am so glad I don't look like some of them, lol. Its put my mind at rest. The specialist nurse at the hospital had said to me that I had had a good result and that I had a pretty one, lol. I didn't believe her but she said she never says if it isn't. So I guess it must be.

Sorry a little off thread but I just wanted to say thanks. I've only ever seen one real one up close in my life time. So I had nothing much to compare myself with. BTW, my clit is really tiny but big on output, hehe. Size really doesn't matter, lol.

I have a smallish cilitoris that kind of peeps out from under the hood, I never really compare mine with other girls only in photos, when I asked my Husband for his opinion as he had other girl friends before me, he says mine is ''neat and pretty'' and satisfying his needs as a man.

Initially after my GRS I would say my clitoris was in the range of the norm.

I then had labiaplasty and my clitoris and labia were refined and countoured, and I must admit I prefer my post surgical size and that I continue to be very pleased with my level of sensitivity.

I also agree that some surgeons may look at the clitoris from a "bigger is better" viewpoint, which isn't always the case.
