Ok so, now that I'll have to talk with my dad, he might ask the golden question: How much?

I've been thinking about it, and this is what I'd like to get done:

HRT (Obviously, duh)
Rib Cage remodeling (With custom corset)
Hair removal
Singing or voice modulation lessons
FFS (But I want to see the possible effects of HRT after 2 years or something)
Breast Augmentation (Same as above, I want to wait until HRT gives me results)
Trach Shaving
SRS

Let's say that I wanna get all of that done with professionals (Specially SRS, I heard Brassard is one of the best surgeons out there). If everything goes as planned, and my dad gives me full financial support, money is not a problem so...

How much would I be spending on this?

I was estimating an amount around $85,000USD - $120,000USD but, if you people could help me to get a better approximation, I'd appreciate it.

It's in pounds and from a British perspective but she had her cosmetic surgery in the States

When I get into my heavy duty, all or nothing, needs perfection; I was thinking in the lines of 100 k.

If you're going to do it, and you have the means to do it... do 150 k. Look like a Barbie Doll, but even better.

Look like a young Victoria Secret Model

1)Breast Implants; get D's
2) Go to Thailand and get hip implants
3) Get lip permanent augmentation by the best (this can really turn ugly otherwise)
4) Jaw fixed, chin contour
5) Nose job; slender and turned up
6) Eyebrow lift; bleached them, and then get them somewhat shape (i don't like thin eyebrows just normal and feminine)
7)Forehead contoured
8) Laser skin resurfacing on all the scars
9) THE SRS
10) Trach shaving
11) Bleached blonde hair and extensions by the best, bleaching every 2-3 weeks on roots
12) The Ribcage thing
13) voice lessons then surgery if all fails
14) Removal of hair all over the body except eyebrows, and scalp; electrolyzed it!
15) Cheek implants if needed (i don't need this)
16) Butt implants; asked for tight and bubbly
17) liposuction all the fat from the stomach, any of it
18) Healthy diet, and strict exercise regime for a year
19) Tanned skin by a professional yearly
20) ear reshapen if you need this
21) Bleached the teeth to perfection, veneers if needed too

I think this will cover the basics....

Still if you're ugly or 6'2 with a large bone structure, you'll never be perfect. You'll be better off trying a different route than what I would do if I were to transition.

Just be realistic on what you can accomplish, I personally want to look like a mix of Jenna Jameson-Britney Spears-Brigitte Bardot- Jennifer Love Hewitt (her face mostly). ... then I want to add a cute factor like Meranda Kerr and Adriana Lima... to not look too sexy like a Sex Object, but then become beautiful. It's like beauty and the sexy factor need to balance or else you look like a Transsexual trying too hard.

I want to be able to walk into a strip club, and blow away the competition, like "Dammmmmnnnn sho for sure iz she fall from heaven or whatzzz", "Omg..." "Dang", ALL the men turned around and stare at me...

"CAN YOU WORK FOR US!!!"

"Ahhhhhhhhhh, yes, ahhhh oooo, I need to dance move aside girls"

"Dammm" the whole audience staring in a trance....

yep...

My costs back in the 1990's where around the £40k mark if you took everything into account HRT, surgeries, therapist fees etc, etc..

My middle-aged tweaks I suspect will cost all told much the same, when you dial in airfares/hotels etc I'm just getting FFS/facelift quotes at the mo......

So if you want the very best in surgical help.....you will need some available cash-king clout....

I'd guess a ballpark today of £40-80k ($65k-$130k) if paying yourself is going to do it....

Though the NHS will do some for free, but there's the wait..... and I wouldn't bank on this being so as the austerity measures kick in....it will be viewed as non-essential....say to booming Diabetes needs...

Blimey! I'm either a complete cheapskate then or I was very lucky - because INCLUDING my recent revision I have only ever spent in total £12,000 tops!

And yes I was a private patient - not an NHS'er like Alison

Probably Jen...

Because you just had one main op back then and one more recently.....?

If you have multiple procedures like Boobs and a trach shave, then say face work it all adds up....

And the cost now with international travel on the cards for many....it ain't cheap....

All of us would be thrilled if it were.....

Kate's numbers are very interesting ... I was wondering how she'd managed to get FFS from Ousterhout for £23K but then I realised that exchange rates were probably close to $2.00/£1.00 at the time ... Personally, I'm allowing £100K for the whole damn shooting match, including new wardrobe, new teeth and major hair transplant work on top of all the usual stuff ... It's an enormous amount of money and I'm extremely guilt-ridden about the idea of spending so much on myself rather than my family (one of the reasons I'm still shilly-shallying about starting the whole process for real) ... then again, I've spent 25-odd years working for my wife and kids. Presumably I'm allowed to get something for myself eventually?

One thing I do know is that the best thing a TS can have is youth. The second best thing is a naturally small frame and neat features. And if you don't have either of those, and happen to be middle-aged and six feet tall, then it sure as hell helps to have money.

Of course, Iceprincess, you may be in the blessed position of being young, cute and blessed with a rich daddy. in which case, YOU GO, GIRL!!  :)

@ Valerie.....lol

*exercise and diet can take care of most of our needs to get into the normal feminine ranges*

This reminds me of a very funny vid from one of my fave UK tv shows...

No offense....!

HRT - I pay about $20/mo for estradiol.  I didn't find progesterone did anything.  My cost for spiro pre-GRS was about $30/mo
BA - Cohesive gel implants was $6,500.
FFS - $18,900 which included face & neck lift, upper lip lift, brow reduction and trach shave
GRS - $14,000 US but the exchange rate with Canada was very favorable then.  In CN dollars it was a bit over $18,000 in March of 2009.
Electrolysis - $80/hour.  Estimated 125 hours needed.  I've had about 30 to date.

So that's $39,400 for surgeries - not including traveling - $2,400 for electrolysis, so far, and three years HRT.

I'd add about another $5,000 for related costs and just-in-case money.
When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.

  • HRT makes sense
  • Rib Cage Remodeling, that's the first I've ever heard of that. Is it really necessary?
  • Voice Therapy, not entirely necessary. Thousands of MtF train their voices using inexpensive and even free resources.
  • FFS, despite what they usually think, a lot of girls don't actually need this. I've even seen a few cases where they looked better before FFS
  • Boobs, I think you're better off being patient and seeing what HRT can do for you.
  • Trachea Shave, May actually be necessary.
  • SRS, that's a given.
  • Hair Removal Necessary in most cases

If you just came out to your dad, there is probably a lot of ground to cover before you hit him for money.  I think that at this time, deep and enduring acceptance is probably the biggest gift he can give you.

HRT, hair removal, and GRS are probably necessary.  The rest are nice-to-haves.  (If that's you in the avatar, FFS and trach shave don't look at all necessary.)  Rib cage remodeling can cause problems – don't rush into it.  (And do you really want to wear a corset all the time?)  Even if money is not an issue, be careful not to become a surgery junkie.  Is your goal to live as the woman you are?  Or is it to be someone you are not?

Easy, girl.  This is a process that takes time.  I know that you want it all done not later than next week, but take your time to do it right.  It'll pay off in the long run.

is she tg woman also?

She's a Latina actress and singer, most well known in my neck of the woods for playing a major role in the telenovela "Rebelde" and its accompanying singing group RBD.

FFS about $36,000 including the stay out of town for 2 weeks. GRS was about $19,000 including the stay. BA was an additional $6500. I spent about $12,000 more in laser and electro.

All in all it costs a fortune when you factor in lost wages and a career.

Was it worth? It was what I had to do in order to bring peace in my life, and eliminate my GID and physical misfortune.

So, I guess, it costs a fortune to wipe the slate clear of our misfortune!

Can you say, transition early anyone?

Thanks for the Fast Show clip. I loved that program as well.

I've always wondered if it is understood by non-Britons.

I think, if anyone ever asked for a defination of British humour, that would be it.

Isn't there a credit card advert.

That ends up: 'Too see the look on their face; priceless'

No matter what we are and no matter what people think; think very carefully. We need to live in this body. We have made a decision to change it to match our gender.  If your decision is to make it match a barbie doll, maybe not a good idea.

BTW fully know that wasn't in the original post, and I'm  not meaning to be offensive to anyone. But we will still be the brain behind the mask. We just hope the mask fits this time.

Now for the derailing bit (sorry) do superheroes/ines fit their costumes? Our the opposite?

Hi Dr, I'm Batman.  Yikes.
Most of us maybe OK with; Hi Dr ,I'm Wonderwoman. Sorry Guys MtF thread but feel free to join.

The incredible Hulk? H,i I need a pair of undies that go from size 12 to size 20,000 in seconds. Oh, and the penile area has to be very extra reinforced. Damn. ::)

Sorry, Ignore me (at your peril)

Cindy: feeling good, coming out of depressions quicker and quicker

yeah... I agree with kate and indeed others.

You can do too much.

The basics are

HRT (no idea what this costs because in the UK its free, and even in the US I think it is covered postop by health plans)

SRS - at today's prices maybe £12000 / $18000

and hair removal - unless you are very lucky I am guessing that you will spend between £3000 and £6000 - in other words $4500 to $9000 depending on how much hair you have.

The optionals are all nice to have if you need them, but not everyone does, and indeed not everyone of of us wants to change our looks to that extent.

I was quite happy to remain visibly the same person - just a female version of them instead of a male one.

Because I was intersex (even if I didn't realise it at that time) before I kind of looked 75% male and 25% female. Now I just look 75% female and 25% male - and there LOADS of natal women like me wandering around who have some degree of masculinity - some even more so than me! So without wanting to offend anyone I really do think that if anything I look far more natural than some of the UBER femmes who have gone out and had FFS and all the other junk!

Some people however do want to lose any trace of masculinity. That is a much more difficult thing to do and yes if that is your aim then the cost rises. My question would be is it worth it? Because no one questions my femaleness.
