So I had a doctors appointment yesterday and all that was running through my mind is what to do. On the new patient questioner the part about what meds are you currently taking I kinda left it  blank. I've been in search of a doctor for quite awhile now that would replace both my hips and didn't want anything, especially being transgendered to stop this doc from even considering to help me. I know there's going to come a point that I'm going to have to say something. In two weeks I have a bone density test then a follow up with this guy so I guess I'll have to say something then. I know this sounds maybe kinda crazy but I have had the hardest time finding somebody that would even think about helping me due to my age (mid 30's). Has anybody else ran into this and what kind of reactions did you get? As usual its like 4 something in the morning just sitting here in bed not able to sleep, blah!!!!

I just say I am on HRT and leave it at that.

Your privacy is required by HIPPA law, so there really shouldn't be any reason not to say something.

I'm curious why you are having a problem finding a doctor that would be willing to help you.  What particular issue are you seeing them for?  If you are having hip problems due to bone problems, then your HRT may be a factor in your diagnosis.

Regardless though, your health care professional should be aware of all meds you are on so they can make a proper diagnosis.

I have heard about our privacy but i was thinking that he would find some excuse not to opperate on me. As for finding a doctor i've been to several before since i was twenty four (roughly 4 years since i started mones the 1st time) and that couldn't really find what was wrong till last year. I feel like a frakin lab rat all the ct scans, full body bone scans, and x-rays i've taken. The main prob is all the cartlage around my hip sockets has deteriorated and now have osteoarthritis. When i was younger i lived a very active and wreckless life, no drugs or alcohol just doing everything i could to fit in.
As for telling him about the meds i'm on i know it's a must. I also have to go to my primary for a pre surgery medical clearence. That will be interesting as he is my entire families doc and as known me since childhood and haven't seen him in 4 years and have things changed since then!!!! ;D
