A real cowgirl lunch made from leftovers:

Pinto beans with pork, a bit of cheddar cheese, and plenty of garlic & pepper. Along with some coffee: only slightly warm, black, and very strong.

The last of the bargain steaks that were quite good, broiled properly.   Cooked spinach and fresh salad from my garden and a small baked potato.

Being a somewhat hefty girl I've been surviving on a diet of turkey loaf of my own creation.  Good?  Sometimes.  Tiresome?  Absolutely.  Right now I'm waiting on my Medifast pudding to arrive.  It's time to get drastic.   BTW, your lists of foods sound sooooo good!

I don't last too long on my feet in the kitchen these days ...yet..... so I just had lightly boiled broccoli and cauliflower with a white sauce. For that I just lightly heated some diced garlic in a little oil, added butter then a bit of flour, dried basil.. cooked it off for a bit then added a bit of milk, cooked until thickened, then added sliced cheese and cooked it down just until melted to retain as much flavour as pos... simply quick and nomnomnomolious.

Sonds nice Muffin. I'll give that a try myself. I have always found White Sauce a bit bland, but the chees should give it a bit of flavour.

I had that plus the onion mix in the mushroom sauce last night with steamed fresh broccoli from the garden (first harvest) on the side.
