You are right Muffin about the look, I think I 'd be giving it to the avatar and reaching for the herrings.
I was feeling a bit peckish well before dinner, so opened a jar of rollmops, and some antipasto and kalamata olives.
My taste buds have been reborn is the only explanation for the way things have been tasting in the last few weeks. Rollmops ,for those unfortunates who have never experienced them, are herring fillets wrapped around shredded onion, and pickled in white vinegar. Sounds unappetising but is absolutely fantastic!
The flavours were out of this world. The only reason I didn't eat the lot was that I was going to make Tortellini and Spinach soup for dinner. Scrumptious and dead easy. Make up a double quantity of French onion soup to cook the Tortellini ( or any filled pasta) and add a couple of handfuls of roughly chopped spinach, bok choy or similar. Jobs done. Yum
