I hope you don't mind some suggestons from a more medical aspect.
Be sure the colour is pink of perhaps a little red. Also, that it's moist.
Cover the area in a layer of gauze, tightly taped to reduce movement.
If the wounds have healed, try putting some bland barrier cream onto it. Drapolene or similar. Not anything active like healing cream though.
If it is available, ask your pharmisist for lignocane gel. It comes in a tube and will numb nearve ending, temporarily. It is prescription only normally though. But he may suggest an alternative. However, a gauze covering will be essential since you will need to give extra protection.
Try an ice pack. This will also numb the area. But is short term.
