I was wondering about this because youtube seems to be another great resource for getting information on transgendered individuals - real experiences from real people.

I have a lot of favorites, though sadly many of them don't post too often.

Some of my favorites are:
MeikoEliasXavier
minorqback
sillyyetsuccinct
Natalie5316
samanthazero34
trupoet7
mrsethcorbin
Anfjace
AidenDanielLIVE

TmatesFTM is really wonderful and very encouraging for FTMs.

You should also check out the Genderblenders channel.  It has gotten pretty small, but if you go to the channel you can see all the old videos and they are awesome.  There are many videos from many FTMs and MTFs.  Here is a great video from this channel from an FTM:

Watch it all the way through.

None, actually. I think I watched a Calpernia clip once, but that's about it. I'm living it; I don't need reminders.

Vexing, I guess since you are fully transitioned, you don't need this as much, but for those who are just transitioning or non-trans, these videos are very valuable.  I guess you are just a typical woman now, which is wonderful.

Oh true. About all I watch on Youtube is Ronnie Johns and random cat clips (Maru is awesome).

I don't know who Ronnie Johns is, I guess I'll have to check him/her out (as long as he/she is not a Republican!), but I do love cats and watch many cute cat videos.  I love dogs too and watch them as well.  I especially love the skateboarding dog!

It was much, much more important to me during the long, long period of closety goodness as I was desparate for some kind of identification, now I just like the funny ones (I don't even think that leith & Les even post any more. I still think that it is a hugely valuable resource for people just starting out or needing a lifeline :)

And if a skateboarding dog doesn't make you smile then give up now!

I think there is a tendency for people to shift the truth when they are on camera, and the camera itself is a lie in a lot of ways, I like meeting real people.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Yeah, Tekla, so who are 'real people" -- here on Susan's?  I do think most are real here, but it's still the internet, just like youtube.  The problem is is that most people don't have a lot of opportunity to meet real transgendered people in the flesh, at least not a lot of them.

I've met (in public places where I'm well-known of course) several people from here, tried to meet another on NYE but it was not to be.  But there is a very out, public and supportive atmosphere here so that makes it easy.

FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

OF COURSE!!! But for those who are just starting out and want to do things a bit more passively, youtube is very valuable.

Yeah, but like Susan's there is a tendency to play up the positive and eliminate the negative.  That is, it's not exactly an accurate well-rounded account, but more like a travelogue where you see the good parts, but not the bad parts.

OK, all I did was post my favorite sites and so do you mean to say that these aren't valuable at all????  Do you have to try to make an argument about every thing?

I quite like that, I've got enough trying to look at the dark side of my character, I don't want yours too! :P

Fraid so! It's in the trans community handbook somewhere!

Any online community, from what I've observed; from atheist groups to bisexual support groups - someone will always find something to disagree about.
Bless the Internet.

Totally agree, Vexing.  I can't believe that anyone can say that Angelie Jolie is ugly! But it seems to happen all the time.
