Lord of the Dance

Been secretly waiting for a topic like this! ;D

Newest game — I got Dead Rising 2 and Fallout New Vegas for Christmas. Not played much of New Vegas at the moment, kind of wore my thumbs out on DR2...
Console — sorry, is this favourite consoles, or consoles owned? My favourite's probably a toss up between the Game Boy Color and Dreamcast. The N64 was great too!
favourite game — Don't think I could choose just one, but just off the top of my head (in no particular order) Pokémon Silver, Silent Hill 2, Banjo-Kazooie, Resident Evil 4 and Shenmue/Shenmue II.
favourite type of game — I'll honestly play virtually anything regardless of genre, as long as it interests me, but generally I tend to go for survival horror, action/adventure, RPGs or platformers.

awwh yeah horror games are ace!

totally wore out F.E.A.R 2 as soon as I got it.
Kickin' L4D2 and Dead space at the moment.
Finished Allan Wake. It was good, but not as good as I expected.
I really liked that old xbox game called Obscure too.

Forgot I've also got a DS. But I've forgotten about that since I filled my computer with SNES and Sega roms.
Totally rocked the ->-bleeped-<- outta River City Ransom.

Make sure you post when you've played more of New Vegas. Let me know how it compares to Fallout 3

No.  People will game whether they are MTF or FTM or anything.  It's just rarer to find FTM gamers since FTMs aren't that common in the first place.

Have you thought about buying a Wii?  Their Virtual Console has most of the major classics on there.

to be honest, the motion sensor gaming annoys me. I didn't realise wii had much else.

so do you download them to your console? or how does it work?

Motion sensing annoys me too, but you don't use it for the virtual console.  You have to buy a Classic Controller (yeah, Nintendo is greedy), plug it into the Wiimote, and play games that way.  I think the Genesis games and the NES games have the option for only using the Wiimote though.  The Wii uses channels, and you select the Virtual Console, browse through the games, then just hit download.  You buy them either through credit card or from puchasing a Wii Points card at a store and putting that information in.  It download straight to the Wii but can also go on SD cards.

Just a warning, they don't hardly update the VC anymore, and the Classic Controller isn't all that great for the N64 titles.  They have slacked off with the N64 titles too, so it's noticeable smaller than the others.  And, I don't know if it was just bad luck on my part or not, but when I had a Wii, the controllers would randomly stop working.  It doesn't pause when something happens either.  It wasn't the batteries, and we could never figure out what was wrong.  It really sucked when it happened.

But you can still ROM if you want.  I'm not gonna be a Nazi about it.  There's no way they are going to release the whole collection of all the systems they have on the Wii (along with the above controller problem and running out of room on the SD card or whatever).  Just make sure you have some kind of limit, like not pirating new games that still need to sell, or games from small companies.  But you should consider the legit ones too.

Just my suggestion anyway  :D

You can also use a Gamecube controller, if you happen to have one lying around. ;D If not, they're really inexpensive these days, definitely cheaper than that hideous classic controller!

Ah, right.  I forgot all about that.  I haven't been around a Wii in a while :p.  Well that takes care of the N64 controller problem, but it's kinda annoying to have to buy a ton of controllers for the system.  It comes with a Wiimote, but then you need a Nunchuck, then a classic controller or a GC controller, SD Card, then another Wiimote and Nunchunk and Classic Controller or GC controller for 2+ players and it just adds up :/.  That's why I like traditional controllers.  You buy 1, you use it for everything unless you want multiplayer.  That makes more sense.
