Mom strikes AGAIN

As I'm sure you are aware by now that I have issues with my mother... grrr...

She has yet again managed to be inconsiderate and completly ignore my feelings... You may have seen the recent Estro-maxx skit on SNL? Well, I found it highly offensive and my mom saw the skit and asked me about it. I told her it offended me, that it was rude and really hurt... Here's how she responded

"Well they make fun of everyone. You only care at all because they made fun of you. They do it to everyone so you're no different."

I asked her nicely if we could leave SNL off the tv for awhile out of respect for me and other trans-gender people... She said no, and has no intention of not recording SNL... She even keeps making me watch skits and "funny" things they've done since then!!

My mother apparently has no intention of considering how I feel, and in no way wants to accomidate me...

Your mother seems to be trying to find sensitive spots to pick at. Believe it or not, moms are good at that. You'd think they wouldn't do it, but they spent so much time, while we were younger, finding ways to push us into suitable behaviours, it's second nature to them. They generally stop when they accept us as adults. But some don't get to that stage. (IE, They don't actually grow up themselves!!)

You could do what I do, for diffrent reasons, and just stop watching TV. It'so boring anyway.

Oh I can't not watch tv... SHE MAKES ME!!!

I'll be in the other room minding my own business and actually working on my 3d graphics and film projects (which is my job) and she'll call me in there and say "A.J. (note she doesn't say Ashley) you have to come see this!!!" if I say no, she gets angry and tells me to come in there again. If I refuse, I get in trouble or she crys and pouts the whole day saying I don't love her
