Doctor Who... Big fan.  My first full episode was the Eleventh Hour, so I got to meet the Doctor the way Amy Pond did, essentially, and I seriously bonded with the show from there.  I don't think I've ever been so agitated over a character being written out of a show as I was when Amy was leaving, because it felt like the whole first part of Series 7 was leading up to her getting killed, and I just remember being so choked up when I saw how things finally ended, when she and Rory took that jump off the ledge together to create the time paradox that would free them from the Angels' grasp.  I'm slowly but surely making my way through the classic series, now, if horribly out of order.  A ton of it is up on Hulu, which makes it easy, but there's holes.  Trial of a Timelord is missing, as is the War Games and a few others.  I saw Trial... I think I was asking for pain trying to sit through Colin Baker serials, but I did.  I think my favorite Doctors are 11, then 7, then 10, 5 and 12, which makes me a weirdo because I don't immediately list Tom Baker first.  But really, it's the companions that make this for me.  Amy, Ace, Clara... all women I adore.

Matt Smith simply -is- my Doctor, no bones about it. I wasn't sure about him at first, but by the time he faced down the Atraxi, he had won me over. And while I have enjoyed Peter Capaldi's portrayal very much, if I had to travel with any of the Doctors, I would pick Matt every time.

Hello to all the Dr who fans out there, i'm posting a Dr Who fan fiction on the forum, i'm writing it the old fashioned way (pen & paper), as each section is completed i'll add it to the ever growing story.
If anyone has any favourite aliens/villians they would like included then feel free to let me know. I'd appreciate any feedback good or bad.
Once finished i'll be sending this off to the BBC in the hope of inspiring the Beeb to give the Dr a transitioning assistant as I feel that the Dr would be a great advocate of transitioners (Anyone remember Susan the horse?), the Dr reaches the hearts & minds of millions around the world & would be perfect for showing his fans that we transpeople are just normal people facing a very difficult time in our lives.

Can't remember if I mentioned I saw the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular in January, I loved it, Peter Davison was good as were the orchestra, singer and suit actors. Only thing that would have made the experience better was if I had someone to watch it with, ah well.

Just though I would throw my hat in the list as a whovian.  I have been an off and on fan till the reboot. I have watched all the episodes with Peter but I feel he just is not the doctor. He is trying way to hard. My fav dr is David then Matt.

Well, everyone has their favorites and least favorites.  Personally, I like all of the doctors. Though I'll admit that there are a few that didn't click quite as well as others, and that would be 1, 6, and 7.  But again, I like them - I just don't love them.  Capaldi isn't trying to hard...he's just a different kind of doctor - a kind we haven't had for a long time.
Supposedly he's going to be a bit warmer and more confident in season 9, so hopefully he'll win over those that are on the fence about him.

Also, Ace is awesome.

Original Trek holds a special place in my heart, it was the first show my mom let me stay up to watch. That being said, for most of the 50 years or so that Doctor Who has been on the air it's been the better show of the two. Lower budget, but better.

Hiya! Just joined, and YUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!! Mahoosive Whovian here! I've been watching it since I was one year old (so for 18 years now), becoming a fan during the Wilderness Years (between 7th and 9th Doctors). My obsession was sustained by VHS' of the classic series an Big Finish audio dramas (leading to Paul McGann becoming my favourite Doctor s a result of his Big Finish performances).

Ace is my favourite companion for that reason; one of few companions in the classic series with a good character arc

About the latest series, whilst I love Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman's performances, I found the series to be hit and miss, either being some of the worst (e.g. Robots of Sherwood) or best (e.g. Listen) episodes yet

Oh, I love Doctor Who. Really, it filled the gap that battlestar gallactica leaved in my heart once it ended! So far, I only watched the new series and the first season of the classic. Here in Brazil, is kinda hard to find the old series, so, i torrent the whole thing xD

The Tenth is my favorite Doctor. Nine was great, but didnt have time to grew, since Eccleston left the show. The firsts Eleventh episodes were kinda painful for me, Matt Smith seems to be strugling, but grew to be a great Doctor. So far, Capaldi is a great Doctor, and I cant wait to see him with the other Doctors (if thats ever gonna happen, who knows). My son calls him "the grumpy doctor" lol He watchs Doctor who with me even if he doesnt understand english and is still learning to read the subtitles.

I even got a fourth doctor scarf that my friend got in UK for me! This kinda stuff is very rare in Brazil, you know!

My favorite episode is "Forest of the Dead" and "Silence in the Library"

I used to be very into Doctor Who last year, and though it's no longer occupying my every waking thought, I'm still a fan
My favourite Doctor would be Nine, I think he had the sturdiest morals of all the 21st century Doctors. The grumpy no-nonsense attitude was also very endearing.
My favourite actor would be David Tennant. I may not have liked Ten's actions as the Doctor so much, but I certainly was a fan of his personality. Hypermanic is so fun.

Do you have the name of the podcast? I would like to give it a listen. Been getting into some really good podcasts lately.

And I am really excited for Series 9 myself. I have been watching since the 9th Doctor was on the (then) Sci-Fi Channel. That got me into the new series, which led me to the old series. My local library has been adding the DVDs of the show (old and new series) so it has been nice to catch up there. I can't remember what Netflix has for the old series though.

There is a podcast that I know of though! It is called "Bigger On The Inside". Two guys sit down and watch Doctor Who from the very beginning all the way up to the current Doctor. It is really good. :-)
